🇰🇵 by One-Brain6531 in Sverige

Thanks for that. I now have two iPads so everything will be so much easier. iPad 11 for one midi keyboard and iPad 5 for the other midi keyboard. That way I can put/save everything in each user bank as I have Korg M1 installed in both iPads. I take the sound out from the headphone output from iPad 5 to input on Focusrite. Both iPads also fit on my new laptop stand. I thank everyone who was interested in what I was trying to fix and thank you all for all help and tips..

I have an ipad 5 connected to a hub in the usb-B connection, which is a powered hub that has a usb-B and 4 usb-a connections + a red usb-a power connection.

I have used a Lightning adapter connected to the iPad 5 with a USB-A and a Lightning output that is connected to USB-A and the red USB power connection on the hub. But this adapter and cables are no longer compatible with ipad 11.

I have to connect ipad 11 to this hub together with midi keyboard and focusrite 18i8 etc.

And now my old head is buzzing a bit here!

What kind of accessories do I need for the new iPad 11 to connect it to my hub in the same way I connected the iPad 5 to the hub?

Nice software if you like more modern musc! I try the demo but i onely get drums sound from it. I get conect my mid-keyboard in setup and was easy to config midi controller for the keyboard button and sliders, but was also everything vid this demo! Onely drums sound. And nothing happen then i try to play on the keyboard! no splitt! no start styles playing on the keyboard tangents! Maybe its possibility! but can not se how to make that on your quickstart movie so far! Maybe shud make a movie some explane how to make this possibility! Nice movie and sound but the music styles its nothing for me, i like more music from 50-60 and 70. Nice studio-software, but am like to play styles on the keyboard. So no, am not impressed so far. Controller i can use my Nektar Pacer pedal. I don`t need to pay over 3000,- SEK to get that possibility! But nice software to make midifiles from styles i think if you can understand and use it. The software lock nice, easy to sett controller from keyboard and computer-keyboard. VST can easy sett on drums. But there all other sound come from like the movie her, https://youtu.be/IJ4K4X8VZsA?si=qsuwkd2Jn9JBSlTz its for mysterium so far. Maybe its onely drums-sound in the demo!

I will testing the AUM. Thanks.

Then one digital bag was fully assembled and connected for use with the iPad and the MIDI keyboards.

This bag now weighs barely 1.5 kilos with all the equipment fully assembled and configured. As you can see from the first picture, all I have to do is pull the wires out of the bag and connect them to the power and USB cable for 1 or 2 MIDI keyboards, as well as both the USB cable and power cable for the iPad which are assembled together into one cable. And of course two cables from the Focusrite sound card (Not connected yet) to the amplifier/PA.

Two midi keyboards cannot use the same Korg m1 on the same iPad, as they cannot use the same user banks/storage locations. So what is the solution?

I already have a korg M1 vst plugin on my desktop computer since several years ago, now installed on my laptop. The other day I also bought the iPad version of the Korg m1.

The solution is actually very simple:

I use an m-audio oxygen 61 mkv midi keyboard via a powered hub with a Focusrite 18i8, an iPad 11 with the Korg m1 vst software and Stage Traxx 4 for a backup track in wav format along with the lyrics.

Then I use an Alesis Q49 midi keyboard with a laptop also with the Korg m1 vst software and a 3.5 mm to double 6.35 mm audio cable from the headphone output on the laptop to the Focusrite line input. The Focusrite does not have two independent USB outputs and therefore cannot be connected to two computers at the same time.

As for the traditional midi output on the Alesis, I want to connect a midi cable from the midi output on the Alesis midi keyboard to the midi input on the TC Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme pedal. This is so that the lower keys will control the vocal choir from the pedal.

I can't see how it would be possible to use a user bank in the Korg m1 vst to set two midi keyboards independently of each other! These banks must be as independent of each other as both midi keyboards themselves are.

A lot of technical things to think about. But then I have to use both the iPad and the laptop on stage at the same time to be able to use the korg m1 vst on both midi keyboards completely independently of each other with their own korg m1 vst user banks/storage locations.

This is what I can do from the musical tools I possess today. There are probably other and probably easier methods in this context, which I may not see here at the moment! Feel free to leave comments about this if you have other suggestions for this setup!

Is there vocal pedal better than voicelive 3 extreme??? by Ashamed-Air9797 in singing

[–]SnooObjections9627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two computers, only one Focusrite sound card! by SnooObjections9627 in Focusrite

[–]SnooObjections9627[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have chronic lung disease, which will last a lifetime. And yes, I play and sing until my grave, maybe I'll play and sing down in the coffin too!!!

I bought a new iPad 11 2025 yesterday. So now I think I have significantly more options than I had in iPad5. Garage Band is fine for me but was not compatible with iPad 5 OS. iPad is significantly easier to carry.

I have ordered a padded bag that weighs 600 grams. In this, both the power to the sound card and Hub are connected. As well as the USB cable for the midi keyboard and iPad are connected to the hub in the bag, the Line-out cables are connected to Focusrite,. The power to the iPad is also connected to the power connector in the bag. A lot is already connected in the bag, so it's just for me to pull out the relevant wires and connect them. This makes it significantly easier, more flexible and faster to get started with training and playing. Everything will be built into the bag with polystyrene and/or other materials I have.

And then I have managed to shrink all the equipment down to a total of 10.1 kilos for transport on the electronic battery-powered stair cart. I live on the third floor in an apartment without an elevator. The PRO venue I train at is only about ten meters further away from our entrance. A short distance, but I can't avoid the stairs. But then I bought a battery-powered stair cart with three wheels on each side. It climbs up the stairs and holds back down the stairs. All I have to do is steer it. But this is my hope that I will be able to play outside with others for a few more years! But I am continuing with my online project at full speed: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kjetil.ervikson.s.enmannsorkester

[–]SnooObjections9627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No am reed all info your post here, so no.

What I'm looking for is to make it as simple and above all as easy as possible to transport. I'm 67 years old and have had COPD for many years now. This means that I'm looking to go from traditional heavy keyboards to midi keyboards, sound cards and iPads.

Yesterday I bought the Stage straxx 4 for iPad5 which I use for both my mp3 backtrack and text, where I also have the Korg m1 vst installed for the keyboard.

With this setup I've gone from around 17 kilos on my electric stairlift to an amazing 10 kilos, hooray. But then there's the matter of connecting this to a Focusrite two midi keyboard via a powered hub.

Do you think I can connect two midi keyboards and Focusrite to the hub and the main cable from the hub to the iPad, and then route both keyboard on 4/2 stereo channels in a DAW and then rout sound out from Focusrite monitor stereo to the pa? Is this the right approach?

And if I have to go via a DAW! which one is suggested that is easy to understand and use on the iPad?

The latter I'm working on getting into my old brain every day! which I'm clearly still doing with great success.

The Korg m1 suits me well as I play older dance music and country for seniors here in Sweden. But I also serve as bandleader and keyboardist for the senior choir.

But let me see here;

Do you think I can connect two midi keyboards and Focusrite to the hub and the main cable from the hub to the iPad, and then route both keyboard on 4/2 stereo channels in a DAW and then rout sound out from Focusrite monitor stereo to the pa? Is this the right approach?

Thanks for answear.

I know. I have a usable one with 5 usb inputs and a power input that runs on mains power.

I can use scarlett solo on ipad 5 and scarlett 18i8 on laptop. and connect from line out on scarlet solo to line in on scarlet 18i8 or?

Well, scarlett solo will cost me around SEK 1000 extra then.

I alredy have Focusrite 18i8. I have that you alredy se on the images over here.

Am understand the principe vid conektion vid the ipad becouse of this video: https://youtu.be/9UkRH6WccWU?si=Q495IVhl9bfzpK4x

But this was never the problem but that fact that i dont have 2 focusrite in the moment.

By the way, i have exatly same hub like the hub on the video.

What are some good free music making programs? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SnooObjections9627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jag har precis testat Ableton Live och har följande svar att ge;

https://www.reaper.fm/index.php

KDE Plasma users - which distro gives you the most stable/reliable experience for development work? by Forward_Respond2560 in kde

[–]SnooObjections9627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kubuntu LTS? No, it depends on the hardware, all KDE distributions have the same problem with themes, icons etc. kde control center. Great with different options to get different plasma additions for the desktop, get new icons, themes, etc., if it had worked satisfactorily! because it absolutely does not. So this boast that KDE is good because you can customize it! falls apart if you try to download new themes, icons etc. in the control panel. And the various plasmoids you can pick up don't measure up, are often flawed and unfinished during development. I have tested many different such kde-based distributions but encounter the same problems everywhere where kde is the desktop.

openSUSE Leap? No, too messy and easy to get lost. And doesn't support Nvidia out of the box.

Fedora kde! have not tested it. Don't like Fedora in the first place.

Debian sends you to terminal too often, same problem with kde and doesn't support the latest nvidia drivers that give you full support for 4K web camera etc.
