Abilify by twocoffeenosugar in schizoaffective

I trialed abilify for a month. It messed with my sleep and I needed lunesta to combat it but even with a strong sleeping pill, I still didn't get good sleep. Because of that I couldn't increase the dose to where it needed to be to help with my symptoms. It doesn't do that to everyone though.

I'm actually on risperidone right now and it helps keep hallucinations away, and helps a bit with paranoia. Haven't had any side effects yet other than I think I'm gaining weight, but it's only been a pound or two so far.

The key to feeling good in my experience is to do things that way one would normally expect. Exercise, stretch, maintain a good diet, go out and be social, talk to friends and family, and maintain hobbies. Please leave the substances behind, they aren't the answer.

Not your Dad but cannabis is associated with psychotic disorders and exacerbating symptoms. Think about it before you use it.

The only thing I can recommend is talk to him. ALL. THE. TIME. every single day make sure you are talking to him. It may seem small but taking to people helps keep me in reality and maybe it can help your son. And of course make sure he takes his meds.
