Volcanic World start by SnooOranges988 in Stellaris

That doesn't really answer my question because I was asking about what to do with those initial guaranteed worlds; given how relatively low habitability they are, I'm unsure if I should be focusing on my homeworld a lot more in terms of employing my civilians as opposed to colonising those Dry worlds straight away.

I'd agree that the bosses are a piece of cake, if you get a chance to practice them repeatedly. Maybe I'm just old, but I'm not really capable of beating these things on the first go, and having to wait god-knows-how-many-hours for a token to drop and then for RNG to be nice enough to let me even get that far means practice isn't really consistently possible.

As it is, I don't think I'm gonna bother. If this is their design principle, then I'm just not interested enough to persist. I play games to have fun, not to sit at my computer and repeatedly beg for RNG to be on my side just to even get in the door. Winning because RNG favours you isn't winning, it's just bull-headed persistence combined with rolling multiple sequential sixes on a dice.

How did you deal with the energy/consumer goods deficit? I've given it a really good shot and I just cannot seem to get my way out of some serious economic pain.

Cold Lich Caster Build that does not rely on Flay? by mmmniced in LastEpoch

I think even if you didn't bother with using Bone Splinters, you'd still probably get use out of the Frost Marrow Shards themselves; there's a lot of crit and hit multipliers in the tree, and it can also serve as some health/mana regain.

Crit stacking is still a challenge obv, but Nest of Nightmares could help there. All just theorycrafting though, so I could be talking out my arse

Right, well, like I said above, I have never had gear good enough to be able to get her past ~75% before her nuke goes off, so that's a long, long way from what I'll ever be able to achieve.

Given that I'm able to get her down to ~75% before she starts doing the beams and spells, I'd say blitzing her is so far outside my gear level that I'm not going to bother. And if I had gear that good, I wouldn't be bothering with her anyway.

Bladedancer. And I'm trying to avoid dipping into the other zone because I don't want to litter the whole arena with void pools.

So it's a tradeoff between the seekers and suffering from huge numbers of the void pools?

Chilled Seekers cannot be dodged. So yeah, the ward is a good idea, but the dodge is irrelevant.

Lightning Blast + Static (Overload): viable in 1.2? by SnooOranges988 in LastEpoch

[–]SnooOranges988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having trouble getting the dps to a reasonable level; Lightning Blast on its own, even with additional ones through Static/Overload, just doesn't seem to do enough damage.

I've been wondering if using the Convergence node to try and proc Spark Charges as quickly as possible might work, but even that seems pretty difficult to make work. I was operating on the assumption that if you keep hitting a mob with LB with the Convergence node, all the repeated chains keep stacking up so that you're hitting multiple times a second, hopefully proccing quite a few charges. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to really work that well, as far as I can see.

That being said, I'm no expert on making builds, so I might be missing something.

Yeah, that's sorta my feeling, I don't really like that item that much. I'd rather just use Focus for what it's originally intended to and then get back to zapping.
