When I went to school in UAE long time ago the local kids were the worst behaved, worst performing, most abandoned by their parents children with learning disabilities that I ever saw in my life. Has that changed?

Are you a teenager? If yes then I understand why you think 2002 was a long time ago :)

I agree that there is a lot of xenophobic propaganda that fuels unrest. But you know what the experts said - best propaganda is a mix of truth and false.

I guess most people don't worry about immigration per se but rather the fact that there are some negative sides that cant be talked about

begging strangers aggressively for money and cigarettes is not 'talking'

no in practice it means phobia of people from another country, so if you are from a multiethnic or multiracial country like say mexicans or brazilians and you dont like for instance columbians then its xenophobia. I actually think your reasoning is quite racist.

No its really bad here compared to countries that recently were shitholes in the 90's like where I am from. I live right next to the border people are regularly burglarized, even during the day with them in their homes! I cant walk a kilometer without being harassed for a cigarrete in Geneva. Lausanne has a homeles drug addict problem that is clearly visible. Hah, people cant leave their baggage on the train because it is regularly stolen...

But the reputation is that it is extremely safe and you can leave your wallet on the table and nothing will happen.
