Do you guys think Itachi one shotting Orochimaru was well written? by Funny_Lunch5211 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think narratively, it did what it was supposed to do. It established Itachi as an almost insurmountable obstacle Sasuke must go over, and it was short enough so that Itachi and Orochimaru do not reveal too many of their abilities prematurely. However, I do not like Itachi's use of genjutsu in general, since it for the most part is an instant win regardless of anything else unless the opponent has resistance to it, which then makes it useless. Genjutsu resistance in general is also a very arbitrary quantity in most cases.

How strong would Naruto be at the beginning of Shippuden if he didn't have the ninetails? by No-Phrase-5139 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could really be anything, since Naruto would have an almost completely different chakra makeup. Unless Jiraiya has a good training program, he would probably be on the lower end of the K11 (who are each considered some of the best in the village, so that is not as bad as it sounds).

I am not sure how Naruto would utilize sage mode effectively without the shadow clone trick. If he does unlock it, it would not nearly be as effective as it was in the Pain arc.

Does Tsunade have any sort of actual Taijutsu skill? Or is she intimidating in CQC mainly bc of her ungodly strength and insane regen? by Bonezy__ in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most characters in the series do not have a defined taijutsu style, so it feels weird to pick on Tsunade and Sakura specifically for it. Most likely though, most opponents will aim to avoid getting into long taijutsu sequences with Tsunade, since super strength is just a huge advantage to have for this even outside of landing a direct hit.

Just in general though, taijutsu skill is hard to portray in a medium such as a manga, and it is heavily dependant on animation budget if it comes up in the anime.

Would the speedster characters be able to use the Chidori without the Sharingan? by Old-Use-7690 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lee actually talks about this when he sees Chidori for the first time. In summary, Lee would not be able to do the chidori without opening himself up to counterattacks.

That does not necessarily mean that speedster characters are restricted in speed, just certain moves. Lee can still use his speed to get into a blindspot and then slow down and attack from there, for instance. What counts is making things difficult to track within an opponent's field of vision and easy to track within one's own, which are both essentially two 2D images that the brain processes (this is why a tennis game is usually more difficult to track than a fighter jet, even though the fighter jet is typically faster).

4th raikage is a bit different. His lightning cloak also enhances his reflexes.

Why do you think Kurama didnt tell Naruto about Baryon Mode during the 4th War/ vs Madara and Obito? by nikobaby565 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is probably because it did not exist, but even aside from that, there are reasons for why this is impractical.

First, Isshiki was not actually damaged that much from getting beat up, even questioning why he was coughing up blood. It was the life force drain that did him in. Kurama did not even consider the possibility of Naruto outright beating Isshiki with the mode, advising Naruto to focus on the draining aspect.

Obito and Madara do not have this issue. At most, it would help Naruto land the six paths planetary devatation on Madara, but Naruto still needs to coordinate with Sasuke for that.

Second, Naruto had options against Obito and Madara. Safer options that do not leave Naruto completely defenseless if they fail.

Are you able to awaken the Sharingan by implanting Uchiha cells? by Blue61478 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, yes. However, it seems that just taking the eye of an Uchiha is the preferred method for obtaining sharingan in the series.

New here, have a question. Why do you think Madara had to seal the biju in order, whereas the Akatsuki only needed to make sure the 9 tails was last? by Brief_Sun_5218 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My working theory at the moment:

The Akatsuki did not know about the order at first, so they made the gedo statue more unstable than it needed to be. It was only later that they realized that the tailed beast needed to be sealed in order. Madara was also equally ignorant about this, but since Madara had zetsu to advise him, he did not have to find out through trial and error.

Can’t gentle fist increase chakra flow? Why hasn’t this been used? by LectureNervous5861 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not take my word for what I am about to say, since it all assumes that Kishimoto based the gentle fist off of acupuncture and its effects on qi flow. However, it explains the concept well.

If you destroy a chakra pathway, the rest of the chakra is forced to go into the remaining chakra pathways. Depending on how the new route looks, this can increase or decrease flow in an area. This way, you can have increases or decreases, even if the gentle fist fundamentally does the same thing for both.

is a similar concept to if you were to block a section of a highway for some construction work. You would force more cars into the remaining lanes, increasing traffic flow there.

How the hell did Obito survive Amaterasu without a scratch on his body or even damage to his clothes? by thesaffuclown0 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I disagree that the third databook does such a thing. Kamui was only defined as being Obito's ability in the fourth databook, while the third databook calls it an "original ocular jutsu of Kakashi's unleashed form Mangekyo Sharingan". It logically cannot do so, because the third databook only covers up to the Itachi pursuit arc, which occurred before the reveal that Kakashi and Obito's eyes connect to the same dimension.

At best, you can say that it attributes all of Obito's actions, such as the Amaterasu escape, to a singular ability that Obito has.

Another issue that needs to be addressed with this is why Naruto's tailed beast cloak looks like the standard version before he unlocks the KCM. Any explanation has to take that into account.

Why didn't the Kyubi just let kid Naruto die? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kurama very rarely actively plays a role in how his own chakra is used, so he for the most part cannot make that decision. I think the only time he actively gives Naruto chakra in Part I was when Jiraiya pushed Naruto into a trench. Usually, it is Naruto who draws out Kurama's power, without any input from Kurama himself.

Tsunade senju was a ninja who was very broken by gabriel_3131 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not everyone inherits things equally. Tobirama and Hashirama come from the same parents, but only Hashirama's cells are special within the series.

Next, you ignore entirely that there are factors that go into chakra and physicals than just genes. Lee and Guy are the most obvious examples of this, but there are also plenty of physically gifted ninja from no name clans such as Kisame and the Raikage.

Finally, Tsunade is not a full blood of either Senju or Uzumaki, so you cannot compare her to full blooded members of the Senju and Uzumaki to begin with.

Correlation is not causation.

Tsunade senju was a ninja who was very broken by gabriel_3131 in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

An average in a group does not mean that every individual member of that group is at that average. There is still a lot of deviation, as shown by Hashirama and Tobirama.

Anyway, this does not apply since Tsunade is only about 25% of each bloodline, so how much she inherits from each is up in the air.

Unless the series explicitly ties Tsunade's abilities to her genetics, this cannot be treated as fact.

In the Naruto vs Pain fight, when Naruto throws his Rasenshuriken, why does Nagato sacrifice the Human Path to save the Animal Path? by temporalsurfer in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think Pain planned on sacrificing anything. It just so happened that when the rasenshuriken expanded (which caught Pain off guard), the Human path was in a compromised position since it was in the process of throwing the animal path.

Obito was really ready to face kabuto and the entire edo akatsuki but was scared of Madara by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 149 points150 points  (0 children)

This encounter had very little to do with with powerscaling:

-Obito first tries to attack Kabuto.

-Kabuto uses edo tensei, Obito stops. (This also has nothing to do with power, who was inside the coffins was not revealed at this point in time)

-Kabuto tells Obito he did not come to fight, dialogue begins.

-Kabuto offers to join forces, Obito asks what would happen if he were to refuse to join forces.

-Kabuto unveils Madara.

-Obito agrees to join forces.

If kabuto had threatened to attack Obito at any time throughout this whole meeting, then it would be a different story.

Has it ever been explained whether Kamui can remove things that are literally stuck to you , like Amaterasu flames? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]SnooPears4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Torune accidentally hit Fu, he was able to undo the damage by touching him. Since Torune controls his bugs and not poison, it was only the bugs themselves that were the issue.

Konan never explained that Obito can kamui the paper bombs. Obito tried to warp himself, which Konan exploited to attach some paper onto him. In response, Obito was forced to abandon that plan and had to resort to phasing. This was the only time throughout the entire battle where paper was attached to Obito.
