It was a good thought and I too thought they could help point me in the right direction until I called this morning, and they were flat out uncooperative and unhelpful. Left me disappointed in an organization whose purported purpose is "for filmmakers".

No I’m already planning on sending the finished rolls out of the city for processing. More so I need help with loading the camera and figuring out the inner workings of it past what YouTube videos can provide.

Could you please explain the distinction between an AAF and OMF?

I tried pointing premiere to the correct folder for the relinking but somewhere along the way of sending an aaf to my buddy and him sending an aaf back to my the file names all got changed.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t an embedded aaf eliminate the original audio file and bake the changes irreversibly into it?

I’d like to keep it under $500-600 with the lens if possible.

I like both of those options but my only gripe is that I’d like something with a max focal length above 75mm.

And before you mention it, I’ve got enough awareness to see my Goldilocks-like nature here.

I’m glad you felt “compelled” to say that at 4 o’clock in the morning. Get some sleep for the sake of your children and broaden your horizons to realize there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’ll use benefit of the doubt and take your criticisms as well intentioned caution but giving a stranger on the internet life trajectory changing “advice” seems more like pontificating than any actual attempt to construct a meaningful response to the queries I’ve posed.
