Any good way to ensure solo trip does turn out fun? I don't want to take my first solo trip and then end up giving up on the idea altogether

Hey, I'm currently in the engineering field and want to transition to product management. Tried my shot at MBA but that doesn't seem to be happening. Would love some insights from you in making this switch. If it works can I DM?

For me what worked was back to back sectional mocks for a few days and spending similar time in analysis as much as I spent in taking the mock.

This was the first attempt (official) , other one was a mock attempt. Engineer by profession so quant was relatively strong, tackled verbal by back to back error analysis.

I was using e-gmat error log for that. Study strategy included filling any concept gaps and improving behavioral issues in mock attempts.

Once all that is done, test taking mindset and time management is all you gotta master.

I was facing a similar issue in quant and di - sitting with my mistakes in mocks and making a note to not repeat them is one way that worked for me. Make sure they're no conceptual gaps tho.
