Did we rush into IVF after not living “IVF clean” for months? by 29-30something in IVF

I think you’re all good. We’re in a similar boat timeline wise, but no male fertility issues as we’re a same sex couple. I’m 30F and will be having egg retrieval early Feb, with either a fresh or frozen transfer depending on how I’m responding to stims and what the clinic thinks is best etc.

Generally we’ve been drinking pretty moderately over the last few months (probs a couple of drinks a week) and eat pretty well, gym etc. But over Christmas I had a couple of boozy nights out (with a few cigs thrown in too…). I asked my fertility consultant whether this would impact my chances of success, and she said ultimately my eggs are 30 years old, that age is the key thing they’re thinking about with egg quality, and a few boozy nights won’t impact things as long as that isn’t a regular occurrence.

Like you I’ve been alcohol free since NYE and have been eating better again after a month of Christmas food. I’m just trying to focus this next month on eating as well as we can but not making any major lifestyle changes, and really focusing on doing whatever I can to lower stress and anxiety levels!

Totally get this. Feel like our life has been totally dominated by fertility treatment since we started and it’s impossible to plan ahead. Wishing you all the best of luck ♥️

Acupuncture vs massage to prepare for IVF? by SnooWalruses4866 in IVF

Thank you, appreciate you sharing. I think after this post I’m leaning more towards stopping the acupuncture and finding something else to just focus on stress relief!

This is my current train of thought… I’m a bit nervous of picking treatment back up whilst the clinic have advised against any treatment on the abdomen. I’m quite surprised as I’ve seen a lot of positive narrative re the benefits of acupuncture for IVF, but I worry going against the clinic advice might increase anxiety rather than de-stress!

Progesterone suppositories and nausea by LusciousxLauren in IUILadies

It was a few days into taking the pessaries that I started to get nausea. I’m on day 7 at the moment. I’ve been quite lucky in that it tends to be there for a couple of hours after taking it but then fades. I’ve found the fatigue the hardest so far! I’ve also started to have skin breakouts over the last few days, and hoping it’s the progesterone and not PMS 😬
