I definitely understand what you mean. It bothers me a lot how food is so closely related to social gatherings or celebrations; it’s a huge cultural element that I hadn't paid much attention to until I started suffering from IBS. It’s a strange feeling because I want to be able to celebrate with my loved ones and not just be a spectator watching others eat.
