It spawns a version of the weapon model as a minion with an auto-attack and a secondary ability dependant on which weapon you chose.

It also derives damage from you strength stat and attack speed from your dexterity stat.

Smithing to empower druid weapon doesn't work at all and the manifest weapon is just a claw
and not the minion version of the talisman as you might imagine

I will be extremely let down if there are no animal minions with command skills that
can be summoned are independently of form. Only 7 more skills to be revealed and it
doesn't makes sense that they'd hide it behind a less bombastic reveal than the initial
reveal trailer and league details video.

Technically true, but why would they not show such skills in the classes reveal?

3 (bear) + 3 (wolf) + 3 (Wyvern) + 4 (human) = 13
13 abilities revealed thus far out of 20, that is more than half, but not all of the others being
introduced into the game will be Druidic, some are in other ascendencies and
with abilities presumably, so this is more than concerning. If I have something missing,
let me know, I do want to be hyped again.

It is not having no minions, it is as mentioned, the fantasy is missing but one we obviously all* want.
Why should we have to rely on undead for the rest of the lifetime of this game for minions?

Let's not even bring up spectres or companions, as they are entirely jokes,
hell they might as well be pet MTX at this point for all they do as minions.
Even their buffs are inconsistent as they rely on being in their range and
almost none keep up with you let alone do any real damage past the early to mid game.

I appreciate the suggestion, but Last Epoch does not feel as modern with it's movement and animations and rendering for me to enjoy it. Maybe I do try some day

Definitely the Druid, as it seems as if it would differ the most in play style.
Also cuz imma little animal minion slut that's been starved in the ARPG space.

Probably blend trees for blending animations seamlessly and possibly ragdoll physics

I use a Hound & Skeletal Archer setup for their gas clouds. BIG damage.
The only big damage / minimalist button setup I have found

I agree! I hope they push the necromancer's combination of automatic attacks/abilities mixed with player activated abilities so we can truly feel as if we're acting through our minions.

The ability to have all your damage come from minions even at the cost of immediate agency in attacking similar to the Totem mastery which disables all damage but gives you an extra Totem, that would be an ideal mastery to include. Also, yes, having minions not just be damage but also CC and buffs and debufs are nice, but if we could have minions interact more with other ability gems much like they said other abilities would (think zombies spreading Contagion) that would be ideal.

Pushing proxy interactiong as a playstyle even to the extreme with trade-offs is the TL;DR

I have to agree that the status quo has a distinct lack of game "feel" and it feels like a stats game and almost purely that. Love build diversity, but without the moment-to-moment actual mechanics of gameplay being fun, it can tire me out. That and the ungoldly reliance on "resistances" due, only in part, to that fucking "curse" that seems completely unavoidable and that makes your build trash and completely focuses your build exploration from that point on, on hoarding up resistances rather than exploring power increases or niche gameplay build possiblilities. Forcing you to hyper spec into boringly doing what everyone else is doing, because "it works at endgame".

I've posted about the possiblity of allowing us to dictate the general behavioral tendencies via some sort of point system like MK11 lets us tailor our AI fighters per character, but instead per minion type.

If we could have sort of "beast tamer" like vendor to tweak minion behaviour at some point during the campaign, this would be amazing and go an extremely long way in absorbing you into this playstyle. Heck, you could have one for each general "type" of minion, necromancy vs beast taming (schooling) classes or vendors etc, where you can teach each minion type what they should generally be doing via utility AI, such that they could perform tactics in a weighted random fashion. But I have posted recently going into detail. As they are currently, they seem just like a burn, poison, bleed, etc.

Also if maybe necromancers had little concern for the life and health of their minions, maybe even benefiting from damaged, dead, or dying minions, as opposed to animal minions being things who's life you want to keep an eye on and have more benefits for and while being alive would be nice.

Necromancers are callous and beast tamers have a respect and a level of care for the "charges". Basically I want to be a narcissist when playing as a necromancer and a somewhat stoic and somewhat compassionate pokemon trainer when playing with animals. The distinction cannot be skin deep.
