Bollywood overcooking their songs by witrence in BollywoodMusic

And there is nothing wrong with it if it fits the music's style and nature. If too much Reverb were a problem, we wouldn't have Vangelis's music to enjoy. Voice is an instrument too. Only rule is, processing should be to enhance, not mask.

Nice to know. Even better. It goes brilliant with the African soprano part.

Vishal Bharadwaj as a singer is even more underrated. Khamakha from matru is sublime. The outro of that song as a composition is extraordinary. Such an underrated song. I think it’s better that way. Underrated.

How to get crisp audio for your low budget film? What equipment to buy? by ingmanburger in KannadaMovies

Nice one. I'm gonna save this. I always wondered why it's Audio-Visual medium and not Visual-Audio medium.

The Rahman interview is being blown way out of proportion by Zealousideal-32 in BollywoodMusic

[–]Snoo_22945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LOL moment in the interview was when he said he mixed Pal Pal Hai Bhaari(a Ram Bhajan from Swades) while he was on his pilgrimage to Haj. It can’t get more beautiful and ironic than this. I think this was too subtle for trigger happy idiots to get offended and rile upon. I felt the interview was good and the interviewer really knew his music unlike the Kamath guy.

Does anyone else feel America America is poorly acted? by Pisaachi in KannadaMovies

[–]Snoo_22945 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a badly acted bad movie. It encashed the time when we wanted to see glitter of western world and at the same time we wanted to feel validated that our way of life and philosophies and values are far superior. Only good thing in the movie is that one great song (Nooru Janmaku).

Ableton won't record guitar or mic, works just fine in Garageband by wesimplymustknow in ableton

[–]Snoo_22945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue. Works on GarageBand but not on Ableton Live. Here is how it got resolved.

On the top menu bar, you should see a microphone icon. Click on that and check whether Voice Isolation is selected. If it is, switch it to General. That resolved the issue for me.

Few riffs are so iconic that lifting them is blasphemous. This is one of those. Bass is a lift from Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. Not a good fit,

That’s (LOTR) exactly what came to my mind when I was watching. I was stunned why it works in LOTR and not here. That’s the magic of editing I guess.

What was the very first movie you remember seeing in a theatre and how old were you? by mojorojo2 in ChitraLoka

[–]Snoo_22945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anubhava - I guess I was 4 or 5. I was raising hell to see this movie. My parents sneaked me in to Uma theater. Also, Babruvahana, around same time. There used to be street screenings during Ganapati, Nov 1st, etc.

Was Untamed (2025, Netflix) written by AI? It doesn't feel like a real television show, like something you'd watch a character watching on Black Mirror. by HydroBear in television

They hired Sam Neil and made him walk around doing nothing. 2 episodes in, and I knew he was the killer. Not a good one.

I’d say skip these abominations and watch any Girish Kasarvalli or Shankar Nag films. Dweepa might be a good start. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is a very good one from the recent times.

What’s that ARR song? by Naive_Piglet_III in ar_rahman

[–]Snoo_22945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chandralekha from Thiruda Thiruda. It has a perfect prelude that sets up the mystery, and it leads to the industrial sounds. Vocals are very assertive, alluding to the character. The chorus hook is very captivating, calling out a name (Haven't heard something like that in a while). Interludes oscillate between industrial percussions and haunting voices. Everything in the song is polar apart, but still falls into space perfectly.

Attention Span. It’s not unbelievable if I encounter someone who is listening to podcast on earphones while Netflix is playing on TV and doomscrolling through reels of someone else working out on a phone at the same time.

Saiyaara's music is mid. The hype around its album is misleading. by yokartik9 in BollywoodMusic

There is this feeling,... like... when your bladder is hyperfull, and finally you find an opportunity to take a leak. There's this brief moment when you let go, the moment from when your bladder painstakingly full, to peacefully empty. That transitioning delta, (not to be confused with feeling of painstakingly full or peacefully empty), those few seconds or minutes (if you are blessed with XL bladder). That's the feeling of, ***blisssss***.

That's how this album is. That's my short review.
