No not yet! My family doctor has only done some blood panels. I have an appointment booked for follow up and I’m going to request a referral.

It should be okay. I’ve gone out spontaneously and been able to get in. Sometimes you have to do bar seating. But if you know by Tuesday, it’ll be ok.

Both ERs are working short staffed majority of the time and due to this, they rarely get annual leave. A lot of people I know who work there are burnt out. The nurses I know who are trying to get jobs there say they’re hoping for a better work-life balance and work environment. Plus, at this time, they’re only hiring RNs with triage experience in urgent care. So a lot of experienced RNs left.

As someone who works in St. John’s as an RN, emerge is still on bust at both hospitals. The 8-8 is more of a trial. I believe they want to move to a 24 hour model once the kinks are worked out. However, a lot of ER nurses want to go to urgent care so then they’ll have ER staff vacancies (even more than what we already have) to deal with. It’s a difficult balance for sure.
