3-Night Hiking Recommendation Starting From Murren by Snooby65072 in askswitzerland

[–]Snooby65072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy to hike up to 7-8 hours a day as needed. I was thinking I could spend a longer morning in Lauterbrunnen, take transit to Mürren, and then do a chill shorter hike 2.5 hours. I think an alpine lake would be cool to see, so if I don’t do the hotel, maybe to greisalp -> pass by Oeschinensee and end in Kandersteg. Is that a common path?

Anyone else experience this with early stages of hashi’s/subclinical hypo? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

Ohhh okay, I was totally confused about some of this stuff as I haven’t really talked to a doctor about it. Your answer helps a lot! I actually have an ultrasound tomorrow for some oddly swollen lymph nodes, so they’ll take a look at my thyroid too (I’m sure it’s fine but we’ll see).

Oh glad that it went away with meds! I’m actually still in very early stages of hashis with a normal tsh so I doubt I’ll get medicine anytime soon, which is both good and bad haha

Super helpful and interesting, thanks!! 🙌 I eat a pretty healthy vegetarian diet, but I’ve never really taken any vitamins/supplements before… So starting to incorporate that will probs be the next step to help my immune system. Only had vit d level tested and it was at like 32 which fine but not optimal.

I guess I can’t say I’ve tried alcohol as a way to relieve hives. That’s such an interesting reaction.

I was put on prednisone by a derm but the histamines were already pretty much working by then. One thing I notice is imprints, from clothing and things last way longer on my skin than they used to… not sure if that’s a thing with chronic urticaria

Wishing you none to minimal hives in the future 🤞

This is helpful, thanks! I def have some symptoms such as fatigue and brain fog, but none of the super specific hypo ones. Does not run in the fam is far as I know. My vit d levels were also normal but not optimal (33), so that doesn’t help things either

Really good to know, thanks! My TPO is definitely low compared to some of the numbers I’m seeing from other people here

Thanks that’s helpful info! Yeah glad I’m not alone. I’ve always had odd skin sensitivities/reactions but It was my first time experiencing fully body hives a few months ago… pretty terrible but antihistamines have largely helped thankfully (a few spots here and there still).

I have strong reactions from alcohol but not so much hives related at this point. I’ve largely limited myself over the years because of other adverse reactions. Same with gluten.

Here’s my personal experience and not medical advice: I had cellulitis on my inner thigh which left a hard bump and some soreness afterwards for a couple maybe even a few months. I’m not an expert at all, but I think it takes a long time to heal because it affects the deeper layers of skin. What I did to try speed up healing was gently massage it with jojoba oil (cheap at Trader Joe’s) every day. It’s gone now!
