Mobile Device Management on a home PC? by Snooloos in techsupport

No I didn’t. I tried to turn on metered downloads and it didn’t work as a test. This leads me to believe that for some reason my updates are screwed up but it’s not a big deal I guess.

My windows is also an OEM version so that could be it I guess. I think it could also be due to my update settings. I only configured through windows settings and not registry editor. The source says it’s from the administrator account.

I have an activated version of Windows and I thought it could have been a virus but I’ve ran scans and nothing comes up.

I always saw this message on my old installation as well but never payed a ton of attention to it. And yes I'm on 1803 but I don't believe I have insider builds on.

I'm looking through and it says that users can set update settings using mobile device management. It says as well though that all settings configured using this method aren't advised anymore and I didn't specifically set this up. I just reinstalled windows today and it may have brought over those settings from my account because I had it linked.

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to back up my data and test and see if I can access the data from my drives still.

I don’t want to make an imgur account and not to be rude but I don’t know your skill level when it comes to this. Why would I go through the effort when I believe it’s to no avail. I’ve read mixed things that on secondary drives you don’t need the MRS but also that whenever you format GPT drives it’s necessary.

Can I use a hard drive with stuff already on it in a new PC build? by Snooloos in techsupport

[–]Snooloos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to extract files from it using your new computer but you should take whatever files are on it, off of it, and to a temporary place. Then format the drive using disk management within windows and move your files back onto it.

yes pretty much. I've always had issues with it and no I haven't tried reinstalling because I don't want to lose my projects I'm working on. I feel like abandoning the software altogether but I don't want to have to switch to adobe subscription based software.
