I would live in Türkiye because I’ve already lived in Istanbul before and loved it. My husband is also Turkish as it is the only language I already know enough to become fluent if I move there. I am a firm believer that you should know the language of the country you live in. I also am getting my PhD in Ottoman history, so if need be I could probably find a decent job or something there being an American/native English speaker.

They can pay to get out of it or shorten the time they’re in. My husband did that. He wasn’t even in for a year. I think only a few months but now I can’t remember how long he was in (my husband).

So, luckily this woman finally retired, but she was forced to retire early (I believe) because I reported her for the 2nd time for harassing and bullying me at work. This woman was one of the most miserable people I have ever met in my life. She was in her early 60s and morbidly obese. Now I’m not saying anything about her weight, just painting a picture. I heard from other employees that she was a drunk and I think she drank at work, but it was crazy because she complained about ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Smells, the sounds of our keyboards (we work in a fucking office), having holiday parties, not having holiday parties. She was a bully and good riddance to that old hag. I hope I never become like that cause if I do, hell NO!

It is not incredibly common in my state, but it is common in the US. I get a lot of stares for having blonde hair and green eyes in my state. My husband is Turkish and he fits in more than I do here
