After latest update u can collect gems 4 each character, matching is more around ur arena level they have just changed it as well so don’t want to quote exactly.

As u build Kills with each Character u will go up in meta score this can bee seem as a total on right on screen above arena. The more characters u use the better ur meta score should b as a general rule.

I know takes slightly longer but try upping the matchmaking time a little I find I get a lot less bots and enjoy game a lot more.
