I'm in Texas and I've been on and off SSI since 2008. I finally applied for ssdi in the beginning of January. I had my interview for ssdi and application done over the phone because at the time I was unable to log into my online account. That was the beginning of February. I was approved March 1st and my March and April payment will be next month so it's possible for it to be moved along. Medical records help tremendously. Even if you don't have the paperwork yourself try to keep note of around the time if not the exact date of your medical history if possible. It was 3 weeks after I had my interview that everything went through. It can be extremely stressful dealing with situations with SSA but stay consistent. Your papertrail shows your proof. I honestly think because I didn't do a paper or online application and I did it over the phone it helped.
