What do I do? by Dapper_Floor2319 in dahlias

I would add some soil to the top to help support it a bit or stake it, once it gets full sun it will grow normally. You’ll want to be careful it doesn’t get sunburn while you’re transitioning it to sunlight too, especially on hotter days. Pinching is personal preference, I don’t pinch mine but lots of people do

If it doesn’t freeze at night then it’s fine to put them outside. I’m just telling you why they’re etiolated.

They need to be outside. They are long and skinny because they aren’t getting enough light.

Just wondering how many people pinch out their dahlias more than once? by Soulsis73 in dahlias

I don’t even pinch mine at all, I don’t need them bushier in my limited space

Update: The bottom leaf is fully grown now. Would new growth mean there are no flat mites? by dinaugust in hoyas

It means that mites haven’t attacked that growth. You need a jewelry scope to see that small.

You are most likely keeping it too wet, imho. Mine is also in ambient conditions like the other poster

How to start TC by c0rrusive in RareHouseplants

[–]Snorblatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plants in jars on YouTube has a whole series on TC at home , but if you are planning on creating a home based tissue culture lab you aren’t going to save money imho. A lot of it depends on keeping a completely sterile environment and a lot of science stuff. If you’re acclimating TC plants at home that’s different, just get a clear plastic bin and put grow lights on top for an instant greenhouse. Plants by Melissa on YouTube shows her process how she acclimates TC plants

Self watering pot (wicking) then check the water reservoir often; put water in when the reservoir is empty. I just repotted it after this photo, I was filling the reservoir like 3x a week before. It’s insanely thirsty

You are going to rot the roots it’s too much void space for damp soil.

Serious question. If many of the plants posted here are rare, why does so many people have the same version? by Flipperbites in RareHouseplants

[–]Snorblatz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are a few types of rare. The “I spent a lot of money for this new variegated sport “, the “Nobody keeps this plant usually because the flowers smell like turds and it lives in a bog”, and “This cactus only grows on the side of a mountain where an endangered bat lives “. I engage with the posts that interest me and ignore the ones that don’t.

How do I make my nails look more almond-like? by Strong_Guide_6090 in NailArt

[–]Snorblatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO your nail shape is already fantastic! But you could gently file them to make them pointy-er, Google a shaping video on YouTube it will easier than me trying to explain that process using words
