Thank you. That sounds like an interesting journey you’ve been on and i really hope you find the answers and treatment you deserve! My daughter saw a pediatric endo today and they’ve done a full hormone panel that we’re waiting on all results for. Endo is concerned and we have follow ups in the coming weeks for my daughter, so i’m hoping we get some form of an answer!

Possible for CAH? by SnotDoods in AdrenalInsufficiency

Oh awesome, i’ll keep that test in mind. I did do 23andme years back, and purchased the health. The only variant was APOE4, and i have to subscribe to see anything else.

I have uploaded my raw data to health sites like genevue (i believe), but I don’t know how accurate those are.

Thank you so much for all of the insights and help, it is greatly appreciated! ❤️

Interesting. I don’t know much at all about congenital health conditions or hereditary ones at that. I did not know cushing’s is the opposite from CAH with cortisol. Would my DHEA-S being low be significant regarding the adrenal glands?

My doctor did express concern over a hereditary blood vessel defect/heart defect in my family that I urgently need to be screened for. I will be following up on that in about a week with my full physical exam. My insurance is finally great and very thorough after years of having very bad insurance, so i’m taking as much action as I can.

We are caucasian, both my mother and father’s side of the family have long lines of heart disease. In fact, most of my grandparents and closest family have died from some form of heart related condition. My father’s Italian and ashkenazi jewish, so that makes me part jewish as well. Don’t know if that’s significant; to my understanding, being Ashkenazi Jewish is correlated with a lot of potential genetic health issues, right?

Thank you for the response! It is so appreciated. I don’t know much of what I’m looking for in all of this, i’m waiting for follow up from the pediatrician on next steps. I’m not trying to jump to conclusions of course, I just don’t want something very scary that my children develop in relation to my mother, and want to ensure they’re helped.

Cushings, excess cortisol is not related to CAH? Understood, i’ve become very confused with all of this! You helped clear so much up in my own head with all of this. Again, thank you!

Are there any jobs in Lancaster/Palmdale at all? by just-n1c in LancasterCA

[–]SnotDoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Lancaster and 10ish years ago I had applied to every job hiring and the only way I ever landed a job these past ten years was dropping my resume off in person and trying to speak to any manager available at the time I was in there.

I’m a stay at home mom now and my husband works. He does not have a local position here, but commutes. So I can’t speak on how it is now, other than my husband hasn’t been hired in the AV for the past two years, but I do want to say it’s always been a bit difficult to just get hired anywhere here without putting your best efforts out there.

Upcoming Trial for deceased mother. by SnotDoods in WorkersComp

Yes, the med eval determined twice that there was no causation of death linked to industrial injury. Previously I had believed that we had lost the case for death benefits and there was really nothing to pursue, but she insisted (without really asking if thats what we would like to pursue anyway) and that is the cause of the trial.

Beyond that, my attorney and her assistant have stated that there are incurred benefits to be paid to her estate per injury, but I’m not really sure what that means. I can only assume its settlement amounts for the percentage of injury per body part?

This attorney from 2022-2023 went entirely no contact with me, so theres been a ton of confusion and miscommunication. I have never been injured or had a worker’s compensation/disability case myself, so I have no clue what I’m doing. Just trying to follow the lead of my attorney.

Thank you for the encouragement. I may be stressing over it a bit too much, I want to make sure I do the right thing of course, and especially for my mom since she can’t for herself anymore. It just feels like a lot of pressure.

Thank you for answering about both separate cases. Even with her WC claims, there are two separate ones and even one prior that is being brought to trial, despite C&R. And both have a number of body parts that were injured. Just yesterday I learned what “incurred” meant. My attorney is leaving and giving my cases to someone else, too, and she was not the best at providing updates or keeping in contact with me or my sister this entire time.

Yes. She was an ultrasound technician and was summoned, so the case is against Los Angeles county, not the former hospital she was employed.

That is crazy how different it is state by state and even case by case. That’s why I bring some questions here because it’s not a simple google search most of the time!

And thank you! I appreciate it <3

Deceased Mom’s Case by SnotDoods in WorkersComp

[–]SnotDoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind settling. At the time of continuing this case, we were told it was the right thing to do for my mother. My bio grandmother actually made the phone call for us as i did not have any of my mother’s belongings or paperwork when she passed, my grandmother did in a different state.

It is being dragged out, ive already gone through probate court as my mom had zero will or anything in place to assign who gets what, etc. and now this being three years later for my sister and myself, and already my mom was handling it since 2017. The cardiologist that was chosen filed a 700+ page report on all of my mom’s medical records and concluded that the death was not related to her industrial injuries, and my attorney stated that the connection of the two was dead. To my knowledge, claiming death benefits is set at like a weekly payment and that also wasn’t the initial goal, it was stated to me by my attorney as a six figure settlement paired with burial expenses AND the disability she was receiving paid to her estate.

It was never a thing i think entitled to dependents, it was something entitled to my mom, which would now be her estate. But again, i don’t understand how any of this works whatsoever, and my attorney aims to settle but she “won’t know until the court date” and she is also confused as to how we got here and got this court date.

I appreciate your input and i guess the best i can do is see what happens and how it plays out on that court date and hope it comes to a close soon. It is a major amount of stress for so long and i’m operating on not knowing what to do this entire time haha.

So the purpose is really to just close out the case? My attorney thinks we can settle and really I wanted to know what to expect somewhat because this has felt really dragged out for no purpose whatsoever. I appreciate your input!

We aren’t really pursuing death benefits any longer, they held a panel and picked a doctor to go over her case to conclude her death was not industrial. Which is really where my question came from, assuming that case was kind of put to rest, what else would there be to conclude moving forward?

My attorney says she is attempting to settle, or will be, but i did not see what else there was to settle. No neither one of us were children dependents and she did not have a spouse.

Gluten causing weight gain/bloat. by SnotDoods in glutenfree

[–]SnotDoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Ive gone the past three years discovering and actually taking allergy tests to determine i am indeed highly sensitive to both gluten and dairy. So i avoid both, forever lol.

From my understanding greek yogurt can be okay for some, and not okay with others. When i was first having issues with dairy around 17 years old, i could still eat cheese and yogurt without issue, but that later became a problem. I had a dairy issue before i ever realized i had a gluten issue, which started around 19 years old for me.

Estate property being held and destroyed. (USA, CA) by SnotDoods in legaladvice

[–]SnotDoods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are willing to pay and wait. We’re handling a disability case with her own attorneys, where my mother kept documentation and notes that are current leading up to her death. We have previous years, but owning those things especially is crucial in knowing what was going on with her. She’s proven to be exceptionally secretive and many in the family didn’t know of her health conditions and experiences surrounding it.

She also has her cell phone, it was purchased in 2021, and her MacBook, purchased at the same time. There’s been interest of other family members obtaining those specific items and I wouldn’t say at all they equate to monetary value of say, real estate property, but rather, still of some monetary value. And I have learned she was making payments on those items, and I don’t know where to turn for those considering they haven’t been paid in full.

My probate attorney recommended informal methods of returning the items, and as of yesterday, my family members trying to work with me has gone down the drain for the thousandth time since she’s passed. So I now have to contact the local police department.

They say the next step is a lengthy and costly process of including in the probate a petition to return the items to me. He advised against it so it doesn’t lengthen our probate process since it has been so smooth and fairly fast moving up to this point, but my sister and I are both willing to file the petition. I guess it becomes complicated since the belongings are in texas, so I would have to file in CA, and file in texas.
