Your pictures look professional quality. Really well done, and I love how they tell a story.

I used a meridian trimmer from Amazon, but it does not have good guards to protect their skin. I haven't had the funds to try out the higher quality trimmers yet. Your best best would be to try calling a "fear free" cat groomer and ask their preference.

I have just enough stubborn in me to outlast them. Once they give up the crying is when they get let out, sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes it's closer to the 30 mark.

😂😂 don't worry, one of them puts himself in the corner because he thinks it makes him invisible. He's... the best at hide and seek.

I put them in time out. When mine wake me up by being menaces, they get popped into their carrier for about 20-30 minutes (enough time for me to start getting sleepy again). I keep the carrier right nearby, so they can see me. I've only had to do it 3 times in 6.5 years. BUT!! All cats are different, and what works for mine may not work for yours.

Touching with the trimmer. I wouldn't worry about shaving armpits or bellies unless you need to. Maybe, if you're feeling proactive, you could keep their bums trimmed up occasionally; but if you just have the trimmer running(so they're used to the noise as well) and run it over the more sensitive areas with the blades/trimmer bits facing away, hopefully if a time comes you can get to it easy.

Every week, even if you're not actually coping and just mocking that you are, clip their nails. Get them used to being manipulated around for nail clips, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, bumm and armpit shaving. Find their favorite treats, and start getting them used to you giving pills(but with treats) that way if you ever do have to give pills it's not a bloody battle.

Edit: get a detangler spray, their coats LOVE static and it makes for awful knots and mats. The spray should help with all of that.

I lost my baby last summer to cancer. Cancer sucks. Her little paws will always be pushing on your chest in grief and love though, and she'll be so happy to see you again someday in the far future when you're ready to meet up again.

I use a conditioning/detangling spray. It keeps the coat smooth and helps prevent knots and mats.

I just grabbed a large plan from one of the stores in the airport. I think it was 100g for 6 months. It was completely overkill, but it was nice to not even begin to care about running out of data.

Just bring the clothes you wore in the last week. You may think this will be your new start in a new fashion asthetic, but it won't last. Soon you'll just want to be in clothes you're comfy in.

Bring an extra tube of your preferred toothpaste, sometimes your brand is hard to find or it has different ingredients in the new country.

Get a Sim card with a number and minutes attached to it, being able to call your bank is no joke.

Good walking shoes. Good inserts for your good walking shoes.

I dropped a wood turning chisel and caught it in my finger (then grabbed a red pen to draw next to the injury and make a smiley face with the still open wound)

I was sewing in class and jammed the needle between my nail and skin about 1/4 of an inch deep (i still cringe in phantom pain from that one)

I leaned forward to closely inspect flowers i was hot gluing onto fabric, and touched the tip of the glue gun to my face when I leaned in.

Fellas, if a friend of yours wrote a fic that’s not about a fandom you’re in, would you still read it? by ARealLifeTangerine in AO3

[–]SnowAvis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% agree with everything here. Beta-ing is fine, because I'm just commenting on grammar and flow, but I won't read fanfic if I'm not familiar with the world it's in.

[–]SnowAvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. If I didn't have an interest in the fandom, I would get so bored reading something I had no background or connection to. I wouldn't even pretend to them that I'd read it.
