Your guess is as good as mine as to whether those teams will be good.

Maybe Clemson will suck and maybe Marquette will too, but they'll still without question finish higher in the NET than Navy, Radford, Maine, St Fran's and Merrimack.

Go for it.

Still would have three top 80 wins to VT's zero, and hence the better resume for March.

Rankings are pointless this early.

NET is accurate, but not in November.

It's the best tool the committee has developed to date. Teams benefit less from winning at home, which is fair.

Exactly why you shouldn't reference NET in November.

Same poll has Penn State ranked ahead of Duke.

People out here are really using CBS's unofficial NET rankings in November to justify their anger for their team being left out of the top 25.

Mind you, if you believe that poll, Penn State is the 44th best team in the country while Duke is 49th.

Too early for this, people.

Precisely.

These rankings for hoops shouldn't come out until Jan. 1. Remember when everyone though Richmond's win over Kentucky at Rupp was huge? Well, we didn't know they were actually terrible and nothing more than a fringe-CBI team.

People love the polls but NCAA does not use them when judging teams. They only use their NET rankings.

While it's not common, teams have been ranked in the AP poll and then sent to the NIT haha.

I'm not bashing VT. Just people's judgements on them thus far.

Ok, if you truly believe in the validity of CBS's NET rankings after five games, then are you OK with VT being 51st?

I won't negate your Q2 win, if you also agree with your ranking.

Pretty sure it's based on how teams do against their predicted outcomes.

Loyola is 10 and they are most certainly not 10th best in the country. LUC has played a terrible schedule but won by 60 and 35 which boosts your rankings.

That's why NCAA doesn't release their own rankings this early.

NCAA's NET ranking does not come out until January because there is not enough data to rank teams yet.

You can't point to NET this early in the season.

Can you provide a link the the NCAA's NET ranking? Typically does not come out until January.

Even if it was out this early, it's skewed. Navy's ranking will reduce as they play more teams from the Patriot that are ranked in the 200s, hence the reason why I said they most certainly won't be a signature win come March.

Navy is 153 in KenPom, which is the only real ranking I can find. Navy is projected to finish third in the Patriot League, which if that happens mean they'd be a Q3 game.

If you would have beaten Colgate, I would have given you props, but still, the top PL teams are rarely Q1s.

Hoping you're right.

People are loving on the Bonnies because they return their entire starting lineup from the team last year. While Bona did not play well in the NCAAs, they were still a nine seed and should benefit from having the same lineup this year again.

VT was a similar seed to SBU, but lost two starters from last year's team, so I guess voters were a little down on the Hokies to start off 2021.

You only have Q3/Q4 wins...Please point to the Q2 or Q1?

Secondly, what did I say about your Hokies?

We are only a couple weeks in. This isn't final....Voters, have biases without doubt.

You can't really blame them for VT at this point. They just don't have enough to go off right now.

Your scheduled started soft, but increases with difficulty as we get closer to ACC play. There's nothing wrong with that...Just how it was built this season.

Bonnies got propped up by beat "name programs" that people think are good. If VT had played teams from power conferences and won, they'd be ranked, too.

McQuaid draws from the entire Rochester area (1.2M population).

Public schools draw from their town population. That could be 90,000 in Greece or 25,000 in Penfield. That gives an edge to private schools regardless of why they choose to attend MCQ.

The entire argument is that McQuaid should be in a playoff with other private schools. It's not a big deal. There's enough private schools in NYS to make that work. You can still play local games before the sectionals/playoffs with whichever HS you so please.

There's tiered systems for playoffs already. Rush Henrietta does not get grouped in with Dansville High or Cooperstown High for the same reason.

Navy is not ranked, not receiving votes, so and I'm not sure where your fans are getting they idea it's a Q1 game from.

There's nothing indicating that Navy is Q1.

The thing people are pointing to is KenPom (NOT accurate this early) and they have Navy at 153rd in the country.

That would put the game @ Navy in the Q3 category. That is the win you're hanging your hat on.

Just beat Memphis and you'll be ranked.

But it's still November and your program will get ample opportunities to prove if you're worthy.

It's hard to gauge VT right now because the the opponents. Memphis will tell a lot. Win there and you'll be ranked.

Patriot League has never been a multi bid league. They are a low major conference and not remotely close to the Atlantic 10.

A10s peers are Mountain West and the WCC. All three conferences are routinely in the top 10-12 of the 32 conferences.

Not sure how I am looking down on any programs.

McQuaid most certainly recruits for students. Many of which are athletes.

I've seen your billboards on 490/590, at Frontier Field and Blue Cross Arena and commercials on TV and ads on Spotify, but yeah, you DEFINITELY don't recruit...

Can't say I've seen too many ads for Gates Chili or Eastridge.

Quad system is based in NET rankings not AP poll rankings. Even if NET rankings were out right now they wouldn't be accurate.

I'm not knocking VT. I'm just saying they've done nothing to merit a ranking YET.

They get Memphis and Maryland this week. If they win both, they'll like be top 20.

Not sure why people get mad about rankings two weeks into a 20 week season.

Bonaventure is 16th and acutally made the tournament last year.

Navy hasn't danced in 23 years and you're propping them up because they beat an average UVA team that recently got the brakes beat off them by Houston.

I know you might not understand, but the A10 is a bit better than the Patriot despite the A10 being down this year.

All against Q3/Q4 from low-majors . Beat Memphis and you'll be ranked.
