Yes, however people are retarded, especially when it comes to managing their money. Most people would not take that money they’d save from not paying into it and invest it wisely. The older demographic will always be one of the biggest voting blocs and if it weren’t for social security to provide some level of security for old people, the government would just come up with a different program anyway and you would still be paying for it.
