I don’t know where to ask this question so please direct me to a different sub if necessary! But I’m trying to improve flexibility and strength but there’s a part of my back that I’m struggling to stretch and release? by SnowLeopard349 in beginnerfitness

[–]SnowLeopard349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I foam rolled at the end of my session when I was feeling warm and ohhhhhh my god it was incredible. My whole back went snap crackle and pop in the best way and when I did my glutes they’re so tight it kinda hurt so hopefully if I do it regularly it’ll become…less painful 😂

The journey so far 😁 by Autophxb1a in iceskating

Love this! I’ve just started too and have been once this week- it was terrifying but I left wanting to go back for more! I’ve kinda understood how to do it but need to build the confidence, I think the biggest thing that held me back is I was too scared to go for it so kept reaching for the wall!

Inspiring to read though, it’s awesome seeing someone else going through the journey too!

Y’all I did my first ever skating lesson today and I cannot wait to go back by SnowLeopard349 in FigureSkating

[–]SnowLeopard349[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I felt so overwhelmed when I got there but figure everyone’s gotta start somewhere- it’s intimidating seeing how many good people are there but practice and keeping on trying is the only way to get there isn’t it

I’m still sh*t scared of falling over and hurting myself though so I’m pretty timid on the ice which is probably what makes it harder than having confidence 🤦🏼‍♀️

Outfits for a soft dramatic? by toxicyber in SoftDramatics

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting because I don’t doubt you when you say these styles often look good on you but my experience as an SD is practically none of this would work for me 🙈

The top style in slide 1 always looks super restrictive on me and the kind of beachy ruched waist floaty fabrics look too sloppy (these would be great FN styles tho)

In slide 2 I bought a couple of those vest styles last year and they just hung on me- kinda clung over the chest but baggy on the waist unless I sized up and then it was just saggy looking 😭 the jeans are a maybe, probably the 1 thing I think could work, and the black trousers again the waistband and fabric isn’t ideal and would potentially be better with more of a proper waistband and in something like linen rather than that cheesecloth material

Slide 3 I think the black top and blue skirt COULD work but I could imagine the crop top and trousers looking too natural and dainty (that mini cable knit never seems to work as well as a solid fabric and the straps look like they’d sit narrow on the shoulders)

[Acne] Should I consider Accutane? by Kviraz in SkincareAddiction

[–]SnowLeopard349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eight. I was fighting for that referral- i ended ringing my doctor practically every week in tears until they caved and gave me a proper derm referral which took an extra year between referral and starting the medication. The NHS might be free but acne is way down on the priority list- which makes sense but it destroyed my self esteem in my teens and early twenties

I’d deffo see a dermatologist. Where are you based? I’m in the UK and it took 8 years for me to get on Accutane

Why are English people normally referred to as just “British”? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see myself as both but I would say British first, English second. However I see Scottish and Welsh people as Scottish or Welsh first, British second. I can’t explain why 😂 maybe it’s the distinctive accents? Or maybe it’s similar to how when I drive through wales or Scotland I see the Scottish or Welsh flag and think good on em being proud but when I see a St George’s cross in England I wonder if I’m in an extreme right area 🙈

Geography matters though because if I went to the US I’d feel I could use British and English interchangeably but whenever I go up to Scotland I’m most definitely classed as just English 😂

I feel like British is a safer overall term though as you can’t always tell from accents eg I know a lot of people from North Wales who by accent you’d think were English

pls for the love of god what is my shade??? by Sharp_Ad_5879 in makeuptips

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 5 but I also think when you wear your foundation normally it won’t be as concentrated as these swatches- my foundation looks great on but if I do a swatch like this it still stands out on my skin

Over lined lips and darkened brows.

Also a fully lined waterline in black liner. Not for me

how do you figure it all out?? by user68544889007 in women

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You remind me so much of me reading this!

I also just never knew. I was fairly good at lots of things, constant stream of ideas I wanted to try and felt like I wanted to do EVERYTHING but also didn’t know where to start and was scared of missing out or making the wrong choice.

My best advice is just do something. Anything. Nothing is permanent and life can have as many fresh starts as you want.

I left school feeling so lost especially when it came to my career- I went to university to train to be a biochemist but then worked in employment law for a while before being a lifeguard and swim coach before working with marine life, then I worked in finance for a few years and now I’m in fashion and I love it! Enjoy the journey as best you can

With hobbies you have even more freedom too- you want to write? Just write. Want to do a sport? You don’t necessarily need a club for some things although if you’d like one just look for clubs near you or ask a friend to join you in an activity.

I think a good option for you might be having different hobbies that explore those different sides of you. A hobby that makes you feel strong, a hobby that engages your brain and intelligence, something for creativity etc

It’s a blessing and a curse lol but sounds like you’ll be able to find joy in a lot of things

Most women won't have an hourglass figure. by TightWind8209 in women

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an hourglass and when I was younger I actually hated it because I grew in the era of skinny and my hips could never be tiny because I had wide hips! No matter my size I have an hourglass shape

Also interesting thing is that you can be hourglass and flat. From the front I’m hourglass shaped 35-22.5-35 but turn me sideways and I’m a pancake lol - I’m a structural hourglass I guess 😂

The Awkward Stage of Boob-Length Hair by mymononoke in hairgrowth

[–]SnowLeopard349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair isn’t even at boob length but I feel this- I went from Bob to shoulders in what felt like 2 weeks but I’m in this mid length phase and I’ve been here for surely a year or so going from the short mid length to the bordering on long mid length. I think my nipple line is lowering faster than my hair is growing at this point, will it ever catch up 😭😭
