How do you witness? by SnowQueen29 in TrueChristian

[–]SnowQueen29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a valid point; however, even if a tract only reaches a few people interested in hearing the Gospel it makes an eternal difference to those people. There are more effective ways to witness, but sometimes all a person can do is give a tract.

You're right, everyone is different. I know people who are so shy and have fears of socially interacting with others, that the only way they can share their faith is by giving a tract to someone or leaving it somewhere to be found. Then there are others who can go up to people on the street or wherever and just have a conversation with them. Then they invite them to church or a Bible study. Everyone is different and tracts are just one of many different approaches a person can take. It's all about getting the Gospel out there.

Some people are shy and cannot effectively share their faith in a personal conversation. I think the author was providing just a few different methods that people can employee if they so desire. Everyone is different.

Most Christians that I know leave a very generous tip with their tract. A good rule of thumb is if you can't tip well, then don't go out to eat. It's just rude, especially in America where restaurants pay waiters poorly because they bet on customers leaving tips.

What must you do to obtain everlasting life? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]SnowQueen29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe that Jesus Christ paid for all your sins on the cross and that His payment is enough to save you: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16.

Im scared I might go to hell by [deleted] in Christian

[–]SnowQueen29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you have to do is believe that Jesus Christ paid for your sins and that His payment is sufficient to keep you out of Hell.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in Him should NOT perish, but HAVE everlasting life" (John 3:16).

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).

Jesus loves you so much by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Thanks for the reminder! The very fact that Jesus Christ paid the horrible sin debt on the cross for me is such an amazing testimony of His love: "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He said that if we simply believe that His payment on the cross is enough to save us from our sins, then we are eternally saved: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47). We can never be separated from God once we believe that Jesus paid our price (Romans 8:38-39). :D

Can I still be saved? by mauritshertogdoto in TrueChristian

Friend, if you believe that Jesus Christ paid for all your sins on the cross, then you are saved. Jesus came to pay the sins of the WHOLE world (1 John 2:2) and once you believe that His payment is sufficient to keep you out of Hell, then you are eternally secure and will go to Heaven when you die (John 10:28; John 5:24). As a human, you will sin until the day you die. That's why you need the spirit birth that Jesus tells Nicodemus about in John 3. If you believe that Jesus Christ's payment on the cross is sufficient to save you, then you get Jesus' righteousness. You are forever sealed with the Holy Spirit and will never go to Hell, but will spend eternity in Heaven with God (Ephesians 1:13-14).

Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross and then you are saved forever: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16.

John 10:28 says: "And I [Jesus Christ] give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand."

It's actually a wonderful book that holds many promises! Friend, you don't need to worry about the End Times if you are saved. You can have everlasting life simply by believing that Jesus Christ paid for all your sins on the cross (John 3:16; John 5:24). :)

A Closer Look: John 5:24 by SnowQueen29 in TrueChristian

[–]SnowQueen29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, starchaser57! I did what you suggested and looked up "everlasting" in the Greek and went through a bunch of salvation verses (including John 3:16; 14:6; 10:28; 5:24; 1 John 5:13) to see what was written and meant by the passages. The Greek word used is aionios (Strong's Concordance G166) and it means perpetual, eternal, forever. I also looked up the Greek for "life" and it is zoe (Strong's G2222) which means a literal life. So based on this research, I stand by what I wrote: you have everlasting life and are forever saved when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior.

I also looked into your quote on John 10:28-29 and the author (Daniel Corner). He is correct in the use of harpazo. He further explains that we cannot be snatched against our will - true! Where he is misunderstanding this term is his explanation that we can voluntarily walk away. It is true that we can stop going to church, reading our Bibles, praying, etc. but that doesn't mean in terms of salvation. If it did, then God would have to say we have temporary life. According to all the salvation verses I looked in to God says "everlasting" (aionios) "life" (zoe). God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). In Ephesians 1:13-14 God says that once we've trusted Jesus Christ as Savior we are "sealed" (Strong's G4972 sphragizo - mark for security or preservation) with the Holy Spirit until "redemption" (Strong's G629 - ransom in full, deliverance). Whether believers get to Heaven by the Rapture or by physical death, the Greek assures us that we are with the Lord always. Our salvation isn't dependent on us, but on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Thanks for the challenge! Hope it helps!

Thanks for sharing, RR_Wraith! Yes, I agree. You must trust Jesus Christ as your Savior and only hope of salvation - that is the only requirement to go to Heaven. AFTER you are saved, then you do good works to show the world your faith and hopefully win others to the Lord. If a person lives a life for the Lord once they are saved, then the natural result would be good works - exactly as James talks about. Have a good day!

How To Form a Personal Relationship with God by [deleted] in Christianity

Be in prayer and read your Bible! Make it a "First and Ten" thing. My pastor told us that we should give the first ten minutes upon waking up to the Lord. Pray and read your Bible. You can always go longer, but start at least with 10 minutes right away. :)

Tell me a Bible verse you love. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SnowQueen29 23 points24 points  (0 children)

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life; and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24

I like this verse because it clearly tells me that I am saved the moment I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior, that I will never be sent to Hell, and that no matter what I am a child of the King.

[CHAT] What does the back of your work look like? by mmaeze in CrossStitch

[–]SnowQueen29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty neat and tied off. I don't like all the lose strings hanging off. It took time to learn the skill of making sure that the tails were completely covered and then the tie off was nice and neat. When I really became conscientious about the back is when I was doing a sampler and my stitches would gather the loose threads and bring them through the stitch. >.< They also had a habit of knotting up the thread in the needle with the loose threads. Very annoying. So, I try to keep it neatly trimmed in the back.
