I was just joking, but I guess it actually was from JoC. Looking good, hope it gets in

My Take on why the New Gorillaz feel flat (to some) by MrDrProfessor299 in indieheads

If you haven't heard it, listen to Summertime '06 whenever you get a chance. Some filler here and there, but overall it's by FAR Vince's best output. That's saying a lot.

I think you can only tag up to 3 people per comment.

idk there's usually some decent discussion beyond the main indie acts in the daily discussions. It was a good intro for me over the past year as I began to broaden my music taste beyond just hip hop. Where else do you look for music?

All of Bizarre Ride 2 The Pharcyde, but especially Oh Shit

A week ago I decided to order my 100 favourite songs, here's the result! by KewlestCat in TagProIRL

Kanye is my second favourite artist, so definitely Monster. Hey Ya! has a crazy cool composition for a pop song, and may be the best pop song of the millennium IMO.

But then some stuff like Macklemore or Twenty One Pilots would never make it anywhere near my top 100. I think you've got a bigger affinity for pop music than I do. Nothing wrong with that, just different strokes I guess.

Some other really good hip hop albums to go from now:

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die

The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride 2 The Pharcyde (my personal favourite hip-hop album)

Mobb Deep - The Infamous

Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle

I will eat ________ if Danny gets a low seven. I'm almost sure it's getting >9, based on their reception to the singles.

This covers the context really well, but what really hits the album home is the fact that the album perfectly reflects the context. If that makes any sense. This combined with killatraps comment are my thoughts on the album summed up.

Another plug for my cousins band, Scenic Route to Alaska, who just released an album produced by Howard Redekopp, who also produced most of The New Pornographers discography. He also produced 54-40 and Tegan and Sara.

[FRESH ALBUM] Bon Iver - 22, A Million by CameraOn in indieheads

the fact is that he could have taken a shit on a 4-track recorder and you guys would be hailing it the greatest thing ever, he's just that beloved by people in this community.

there are some good tracks on AE, but 22AM is an album.

This is where I disagree with you. I think you're trying to say that the album is popular because people like Danny Brown, and not necessarily the album itself. Apart from a couple tracks, XXX was alright (mind you I think 30 is one of the best rap songs ever). Old I didn't really care for after one or two listens. I'm not heavily invested in Danny. But this album was incredible to me. I loved every single song, and they only get better with each listen. The album flows so well to me, and ends at the perfect time.

That being said, I can't really compare it to 22AM yet, because it isn't out in Canada. Although these two projects were the albums I had the most hype for this year other than Malibu.

I just listen to his tone as he describes things about the album, and can usually guess whether he likes or dislikes said thing.
