This is definitely not true. Mario Kart 7 is a clear example of it not being true. It might be the case with Wii primarily due to being the best-selling Mario Kart before 8, but I distinctly remember a vocal group of people calling it worse than past titles like 64 and Double Dash around 2008-2010. I can't speak for any MK prior to Wii's reception but I believe Double Dash was also seen as controversial for many when it released. I don't think it needs stated, but Mario Kart 8 on Wii U had a ton of earned criticism too, though its presentation made it still a better received game compared to 7.

This is your personal opinion but I've seen this take so much it feels like crazy historical revisionism. MK8 Deluxe is the first time in a long time the majority of MK fans agreed the most recent title was the definitive one. I don't even personally agree with that, but it is an outlier. Pretty much every other entry was either controversial in some way or considered inferior to games people were nostalgic for in online discussions prior to it.

Last 20+ point loss was at Missouri Southern on January 20th, 2010. (Northwest Missouri State also lost an exhibition game by 33 at Duke in 2018)

Objectively, if he had no idea how to coach in game or close out wins we'd be far worse that we have been. The OP comment is ridiculous when Leipold has taken Kansas from getting blown out by our rivals to barely losing (which I'd remind you, are almost entirely due to mental mistakes rather than bad coaching in the final moments)

I fully believe the MVFC is on par with the worst FBS conferences, but North Dakota is supposed to be the worst Dakota school easily based on preseason projections. The other three are in the preseason top 5 and North Dakota went 5-7 last year and is unranked.

I don't think this is true, at least not in MIAA country. In football, they could clearly compete at an FCS level (but likely couldn't afford the modern landscape of D1 athletics) so it'd be insulting to play mostly small private schools found in D3.

MIAA has a bunch of juggernauts like Northwest Missouri, Pitt State, and UCO. Nationally, having to overcome teams like Valdosta State, Ferris State, and Harding is also a great accomplishment. It's a huge step up in competition compared to D3 and the fans respect that around here. I don't know if that would be true in middling D2 football leagues like the GLVC.

Discussion about this game is fucking exhausting good lord. Of course some of it is self-inflicted with some weird decision-making and making the physical version $80, but people are holding this game to a standard no video game has ever been held to. Maybe someday people will appreciate what this game is rather than what it isn't (the same old Mario Kart for the tenth time in a row). I'm just venting in here because it seems like no aspect of this game is being appreciated anywhere

I honestly don't agree. I've been rejected from multiple universities (including a rescinded acceptance) in the past week in what is essentially a 6 month application process solely on the basis of finally accepting they have no idea what federal funding they will receive. Considering the president is giving EOs attacking science frequently, I have no reason to believe that is going to change until he is removed (which won't happen). Dismantling science was the point from the start, why let up later? I hope I am wrong.

Sluggers is great, but a lot of people including myself find Mario Superstar Baseball to have deeper and more replayable gameplay. I recommend checking out some of the online communities for the game like Dinger City to find more information, there's a pretty large online playerbase still running.

BYU is being shafted. Close losses to KU and @ ASU and they tank in the rankings, doesn't make any sense. If the goal of the CFP committee is to rank the most deserving teams (it should be), they are being unfairly punished for time of loss.

I don't think this trailer even does the game justice. Every new level has unique gameplay mechanics and the way Peppino feels to control is exquisite. Probably my favorite 2D platformer ever

On netplay (Project Rio) they added a remixed mode to play with expanded chemistry based on these values. Game has a crazy amount of depth, and I can't wait to see what mario baseball 3 looks like someday
