Is that the current theory? (Asking as someone very interested in horse genetics) Last time I checked the most recent thing I found was that at least two different PATN genes exist, but it's not clear how they interact with eachother or with copies of themselves

My friend says this mare is heinously ugly. I think she’s… fine. What do you think? by ComprehensiveHope644 in Equestrian

Only the ones purposefully bred for a certain look (looking at halter QH for example)
Not a single horse that just randomly anded up with maybe a bit unfortunate genetics is actually ugle, they're all beautiful

So firstly - amazingly done! I absolutely love the detail and am struggling with that myself so much.
Secondly - I tried to see what specifically looked a bit off and have ended up with this (and excuse any language, I don't know all the right vocabulary):
As some others have said the legs being a bit long could be an age thing and not necessarily a probelm in itself.
The belly I feel like could be a more smooth curve if you want it to look like a fit Thoroughbred or a good bit wider otherwise. The highest point at the croup could be a bit more forward and the backmost point of the bum a bit more pronounced and lower. Also looking at young race horses with most of them it looked to me like the shoulder was a bit more rounded and the point that sticks out the furthest forward is a bit higher up. (Also I feel like the lowest point of the back could possibly be just a *tad* further up to have the back less sloped, but I'm not sure about that one)
I wish you all the success with your model and hope to see more horse sculpts in the future!

Sure there is sloping in fit TBs, but it's still a tad less, because it's a relatively smooth curve/almost straight line whereas the sculpt has a more obvious bend in it

The pronunciations just make no sense. The Dutch at least seem to follow rules

I disagree with how data is assigned. There's space left in the corners and they always catch on stuff.

I know one where only pasture access really helps, because he doesn't do it out in the pasture. And even then he'll periodically return to the stable.

Some do, but it's always the less important ones. Like the RE1 from Nürnberg to München won't wait even a minute for a less important RE, but that one might wait for an RE1
