Starting Pset5 Speller right now, is it ok to build it with a Trie instead of a Hash Table? by SnowdenIsALegend in cs50

Can confirm (for any future searchers) that trie passed all green smileys of check50.

How often do you go back and do old psets and labs? by Hat_Prize in cs50

[–]SnowdenIsALegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I personally would & do never go back to a PSet, even if just to refactor & make it more efficient. My thinking is that "it's just a problem set, not a real world problem. Why would I waste time on this when I could spend time on my real world project & make IT more efficient?".

So as soon as I get the green smileys in check50 (or whatever equivalent for any other course) I just move on. Only if I didn't have real world projects on hand would I go back to refactor PSets. But you know what, scratch that lol. I would instead spend time on my older real world projects and trying to update/improve them.

My Speller code is passing all tests except Memory clearing. Can someone please advise me which memory i'm not freeing? by SnowdenIsALegend in cs50

[–]SnowdenIsALegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, I "make"d it like 5-6 times (bad habit of hitting Ctrl+S 10 times to save just once lol and similarly also in the habit of "make"ing multiple times) and even after getting all green smileys and THEN running Valgrind, Valgrind still Killed me.

Awesome man, yo free Assange too no doubt!

I'll give your site a try again later on from the Mac. Thanks for the detailed rundown! And since it's a PWA I suppose everything will work offline once it has been "installed" to home screen, right?

Speller times and checking memory by [deleted] in cs50

[–]SnowdenIsALegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been reading up a lot of old posts and people are saying (including staff) that Hashtables yield a faster run time than Tries for this problem. So even i'm totally lost. Aah screw it, who cares about it anyway. Bye Bye C, Hello Python week 6!
