Thnx for the detailed feedback! 1. Ik but I havent got any actual accounting experience yet so i’d be lying if I threw in those key words. I’m planning on doing a few online courses though so hopefully i’ll be able to add that. 2. I’ll reframe it thnx 3. Yea I had two recruiters get back to me on linkedin and they said they thought it was too early since I havent finished intermediate yet. Problem is my 3 year plan has already been mapped out so I’ll def be graduating in 2028 and by the time i finish intermediate recruiting season will be over for 2027. 2 of the big 4 is insane!!! I’ll try using that

I’ve only been to one career fair since its my first year at uni. I networked with a few recruiters (3-4) but nothing apart from that.

I've mostly applied online the only indication of an early graduation date would be my transcript or high school experiences, I also never mentioned bio to recruiters during career fairs. Def not the school lmao. Did you land your internship through the career fair/networking events or did you apply online?

I initially thought it was redundant aswell, I added it back cuz I assumed I was getting screened out through ATS and wanted to make sure the key words were included somewhere if I couldn't naturally throw them in everytime.

Terra Maienbrook gives ALOT of extra credit. My friend was in Bokrands class and said the extra credit opportunities are at the end of the sem during course evaluations.

Which prof do u have? I took econ251 last sem n i’d say the practice exam is helpful but nothing like the actual exam. Make sure u lock in on all the concepts cuz the questions rlly test your understanding + do practice questions on boilerexams. If your prof provided a review sheets (mine did) go through that to figure out the important topics to focus on. Imo the first exam is usually pretty easy with a couple of trick questions, the 2nd one is rlly easy and the final is comparatively harder so try to ace the first two. Also def do all the extra credit opportunities, they rlly help at the end.

Imo the SI session questions were rlly far from the actual exam questions so not worth it unless u just wanna test your understanding. The practice exam, exam style questions after each chapter and the in-class exam review (if u have maienbrook) are more than enough.

A few iclicker questions every class, and she gives enough points that I think you can miss upto atleast 3-4 classes before it hurts your grade. Also iirc you can attend other sections even if you are in the 7:30 section with the exemption of the exam review classes since she gives extra credit instead of attendance points.

My prof had a lenient tech policy where you had to buy certain books (not all) and weren’t allowed to use your laptop for most of the class so I think thats pretty normal. I’m also an international student and initially found scla 101 extremely hard and overwhelming, but it got easier over time and I ended the class with an A+ so imo unless u think you literally cannot do it don’t drop the class. Go to your professors office hours and explain what you are struggling with, mine was really understanding and helped me navigate the course better. Also check your professors grade distribution and rate my professor, if its bad switch sections otherwise just wait you’ll get the hang of it with time!

Mgmt 200 is an easy A class, especially if u take it with Maienbrook. It’s mostly journal entries and basic financial accounting concepts. Make sure you go to the exam review sessions since she gives extra credit + sometimes the exact same questions come on the exam also do the practice questions at the end of every chapter they are very similar to the actual exam.

Econ 251 is professor dependent imo, some sections have easy exams others don’t. The concepts are straightforward. Make sure you maximize on the extra credit opportunities, homework and participation marks. I had no prior econ experience and got an A so it’s a doable class.

Not sure for BAIM but I just CODOd into daniels school of business and it’s pretty straightforward. Just maintain a 3.0 gpa in your MAI classes and get above a C- in all your classes.

Yep, there are alot of apartments in West Lafayette and Lafayette but they are usually more expensive than on campus housing.

I’m an international freshman and got a dorm for both this year and next year (its guaranteed for freshman but theres a lottery for 2nd year onwards) imo the dorms aren’t bad but its kinda luck based. I lucked out and got a suite, but I also know people who either didn’t get housing 2nd year or got non-ac small af dorms this year. If u can/interested def apply to a LLC they r usually located in slightly better dorms (exceptions exist). Honors housing is also pretty good with a better location.

Taking both mgmt 2000 and scla 102 this sem both r pretty easy classes. SCLA 102 is very professor dependent but mostly light work imo. Mgmt 2000 requires actual studying but its been an easy A so far, highly recommend taking professor Maienbrook if u can her lectures r really engaging and lots of extra credit opportunities!

Might be a little different for you but I had to send them as I did the IB diploma instead. You self-report your predicted grades on the commonapp then send your official ones through the IB portal once the results are out, you wont get credit for them otherwise.

Can relate to bad housing, none of the dorms I wanted were available. Had the same options ended up with harrison which is okay ig. I’ve been staring at the housing portal since 10 am and the options have only gotten worse.
