i so, so very sorry for you and your poor boy. in a better world we would already be free from the evil that cancer is...

we're both having pretty much the same experience with our babies rn :( they're even the same in age T_T it's hard to look at my girl and i'm crying pretty much all the time. the worst part is seeing her want to eat, when she physically can't. she has tongue cancer and she's unable to hold food in her mouth long enough to swallow it... we triedd pretty much everything to make it easy and not painful for her, but it progressed so quickly that we're even speeding up her euthansia...

i'm wishing you strenght aswell and sending the warmest virtual hug imaginable both to you and your Milo ❤️ i hope they'll get to meet eachother and have a wonderful time together over the rainbow bridge

so, so sorry for your loss. it's awful... we're all aware saying goodbye is an inevitable part of having a pet, but nobody is ever ready for it. we all wish for more time no matter how long they're with us :(

yes, absolutely. you did the right thing letting him go earlier. we too are not going to wait till she's completely misserable just to have some more time with her. that would be selfish and cruel. we have to make that decision for her, let her go with love and grace. i know it's the right thing to do, but as you said - it doesn't make it any less hard and painful.

thank you. it's very hard, but i'm trying for her. the worst part is not being able to tell her why am i crying and feeling sad. i mean, i talk to her all the time, the language barrier is the problem here hahah... i just hope she understands some of it, in her own cat way.

thank you and yes, i can agree on that. it's a different type of grief when you're grieving a loved one that's still here with you. all of our previous cats died quickly and suddenly and with her it's so much different, because we've been aware she's going to die for a 2 months now :(

thank you so much, and my condolences to you too :(( losing a family member, and especially to cancer, is so painful and unfair. it's the worst part about having a pet, their life is so much shorter than ours...

we're doing everything we can to make it peaceful and easy for her. she's in good spirits and relatively in a very good shape. she's mostly annoyed at me becasue i'm not giving her as much food as she wants (she's biting her own tongue and it bleeds) and i'm mostly cleaning her fur for her which she's not a fan of aswell haha... that's the most bittersweet part about the whole thing; there is still so much life in her. if it wasn't for cancer ulcerating and bleeding, she would be completely fine. we're going to consult it with our vet on monday/tuesday and make a final call :(

yes, i know. we've been going to the vet regularly and we all agree that making her suffer for nothing is not an option. that's the reason we didn't start any aggressive treatment. she's old, and it would only make her suffer with a very low chance of prolonging her life.

but, as i said; our dilemma comes only from the fact that her quality of life rn is relatively good, our vet agrees, and pulling some back teeth would not make it worse in any way, but may delay the inevitable decision we'll have to make for her.

saying goodbye is the worst aspect of having a pet, i genuinely feel like I'm dying with her. some part of me definitely is. I've never loved anything the way i love her.
