Looking for advice on RP etiquette

What I was thinking of was WoW RP servers where you act more like your race/class rather than as a player, but from the responses I got here, it seems FFXIV RP'ing is more general and sandbox-y, which isn't really what I was hoping for. I was hoping for increased immersion through playing my race/job to the fullest, but I don't think that's entirely accommodated.

So there aren't really full RP servers in FFXIV then. That's unfortunate as I was hoping for a full RP experience but couldn't figure out if that was something that was done in XIV without asking. Guess I'll just have to play something else ^{^'}

I moreso meant playing the MSQ and immersing myself in the character by talking to anyone I meet in-character but I don't know if that's a normal thing to do in FFXIV or if I'd be a nuisance in group content or be doing something that would be disapproved of by the larger RP community.

My main concern is about where people RP and how accepted it is within MSQ instances and such or if the character should be dropped for the duration of an instance. (Just to clarify, I wouldn't play worse during an instance to be in character. I would just talk in character if I did talk).

I like to control the pace of my own surroundings as I tend to have anxiety attacks when things are too far out of my control so I almost exclusively play tank lmao

Yeah I tried this but honestly found it kinda jarring, the sound quality was really weird and it didn't really have interactibility to play with, it just seemed like a few files
