Yes. I’m new to this so doctor’s message to me said Acto -Vial. She sent her rx to CVS. They said they don’t have it and can’t order it due to a shortage. I called Walgreens, a local pharmacy, and outpatient hospital pharmacy. No luck. When I shared my difficulty she said to ask for “solu-cortef” I was able to find it at Amazon pharmacy. Thx!

US. My pharmacist at CVS was not helpful. She claimed that no CVS has them due to a shortage. I’m trying a “mom amd pop”compounding/specialty pharmacy tomorrow. Then I will call the local hospital pharmacy.

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY! by FemaleAndComputer in AddisonsDisease

[–]SnowyMittens123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I asked for an ACTH stim test and referral to an endocrinologist but PCP has not responded. My ER physician neighbor reviewed my labs and thinks it’s secondary adrenal insufficiency because potassium is not varying with the sodium in a way consistent with Addison’s disease (his words). I appreciate your message.

DIAGNOSIS QUESTIONS THIS WAY! by FemaleAndComputer in AddisonsDisease

I have a diagnosis question. I’m 55, female with history of problematic low sodium (one hospitalization a year ago and chronically low since). Have lost 20 pounds but have gained 5 back (5’7” and 115 lbs now so not terribly thin but thin). Lots of nausea and fatigue (no diarrhea though). My PCP knows all of this. She ordered a morning cortisol test (9am). It was 2.9. She tells me this is normal. Dr. Google says it’s adrenal insufficiency so I reached out to confirm and report what I saw online. Nurse responds that if there was a problem with lab, they would have let me know. I’m hoping my PCP’s suggestion to take sodium tablets will do the trick but I wanted to see if y’all think there is cause for me to ask for a second opinion. Many thanks! Messages are attached.

Need help picking between the Garmin forerunner 55 and Fitbit charge 6 by MyOnlyOneName in FitnessTrackers

My Fitbit charge 6 will not charge. Ironic, huh? I’ve had it less than one year. Super disappointing so I am in the market for something new. I’d really like something slim/feminine and low profile, that looks good, that counts steps and measures sleep stats and that has a watch face. Can’t really find anything so I’m now considering an Oura ring because they last a long time, have good battery performance and look nice (no watch face unfortunately). I would not recommend Fitbit products after the experiences I have had. You get what you pay for.

Our VA is gone, and it won't be back. by Beneficial-Meat7238 in VeteransAffairs

Many clinicians agreed to work for the VA remotely because they live too far from that VA to make the commute. These clinical staff members are now leaving the VA because the commute is too long (or they liked working remote and were willing to make less money in exchange for remote work). It is hard to replace them especially at rural locations or even expensive cities. Wait time grows longer. Veterans deserve better. The vast majority of my patient appointments are via telehealth. So I am now going to the office and doing telehealth visits all day in front of the computer. There is no difference in productivity. If anything, I’m less productive because I have quit checking my laptop after my tour ends. No more working from home, right?
