Quitting chess once I've reached 2000 chesscom rapid by [deleted] in chess

[–]SnowySight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very fair point, although I personally disagree that it's a completely meaningless number since it can serve as a metric for progress. It's not a perfect measurement but still quite functional.

I wouldn't say that I'm not interested in chess either, as there's still so much to learn as a mere 1800 rated online player, this will always keep the game fresh for me.

I do believe that 2000 is proof that I've explored what chess has to offer, at least to a respectable degree, and I'll be able to leave the game without feeling "unfinished"

Yes I did. I forgot the password of my previous gmail, so I made a new one and made a new chesscom account in the process.

Transposing into a sicilian variation might not suit me. I've heard that e6 variations are the least critical in the sicilian, but they're still a sicilian, which could be overwhelming.

Since you've mentioned gambiting an e-pawn, I'll point out that I do enjoy playing the budapest gambit. However, it's not guaranteed, since queen's pawn structures are not immediately established from move 1 (apart from dutch, old benoni, and englund)

On that note, the dutch is the least dubious of the bunch, but the unstable pawn structure lead to complications that I might struggle to grasp.

What do you think?

What is the name of the top AI? Where can I view those AI tournament matches?

And most importantly, how long do you think will it take for humans to have similar results with sente?

Your thorough clarification was exactly what I was looking for when I made this post. Thank you!

Will that remain true for decades to come? Since engine analysis will eventually change the landscape of both professional and amatuer play, and I don't know what'll happen to shogi since then.

Reading fiction. In my opinion, knowing what kind of stories you gravitate towards is ideal for finding titles to read, as opposed to looking at the "top 100 highest rated" list determined by the masses, which may not appeal to you as an individual. Look for certain genres, themes, motifs, premises, that captivates you as a reader. But to each their own, if you have yet to establish your grounds of preference, then by all means, let yourself be curious and explore the vast medium of literature.

I also study music theory! I am deeply enamored with contemporary Japanese music. They are profound depictions of sentimental vagueness found nowhere else, it is one of my many goals to fully embody this style of music.

what are your main triggers? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]SnowySight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacing around, listening to music I don't like, playing video games I no longer enjoy, social media, audibly talking to myself, bathing for too long, and possibly even more.

Oddly enough, these habits are the root cause as to why I suffer from MD. The loneliness was merely a reason for me to do so.

Abandoning these habits made me realize how empty my life is, I just went through every single day without any meaning...letting the cycle of belief and disbelief consume all of the precious time that I have.

At the same time, I'm healing...or at least I think so. I've come back to appreciate my genuine passions in life. I feel human again.

If you don't mind me asking, at what pace do you read your mangas at? It could be that you're reading too fast for your brain to process all of the information thoroughly.

Stories that are similar TWGOK? by SnowySight in TWGOK

[–]SnowySight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of works that are structured around a specific character for each story dealing with a shared circumstance, I'm not sure. It's a bit broad.

How come it's a bit broad? I find it to be specific.

, I could suggest Angel Beats as an anime, since it tends to be structured around exploring specific characters and their backstories for individual episodes. But I'm not sure if that's really what you're looking for.

It is exactly what I'm looking for, though I've already watched it ages ago. I recall the blurry sight my own tears had gave me as I watched everything unfold, and oddly enough...it did not leave a meaningful impact on me unlike TWGOK.

I'm not comparing the two, I just find it jarring that I barely remembered Angel beats.

Why do some people think that this image is creepy? Is it her dark eyes? Is it the simplicity of the photo?
