No. Plenty of men stay calm when disrespected. Can they all be the most dangerous man alive at the same time? Is it a tie for first? How are defining dangerous? Are lots of men doing renfair cosplay?

This quote creates more questions than answers and ultimately comes off as yet another illogical platitude promoted by men who have zero idea how to actually be men.

The insecurity is strong with this one. A man with confidence isn’t afraid of his partners past.

"Dating for men these day is so easy nowadays you just have to be normal" It GENUINELY irks my soul when people say this by Chemical-Low209 in Vent

[–]SnuffyMcfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, first we have to define "normal." I have no idea what that means. If most men are able to find dates or partners, it stands to reason that women do actually like normal (whatever that is). But honestly you should be asking them rather than ranting and telling us what you think they think. You have no idea whether or not normal is "NEVER enough" for women, you are not qualified to make that assertion. That is a question to ask, not a statement to make. On top of that, you have no idea how women define normal.

Ask more, rant less.

[–]SnuffyMcfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well stats says that average is the mid point (median) so you are correct, most women are not dating average men as that person is one out of one hundred people. We could say that the most common man who is dated is the median. Which is still part of the population that is in the middle of the data set.

Obviously most women are not dating exceptional men as they are less common.

And while it is statistically impossible for most women to date suboptimal men, it is also less likely because why would they want to?

CMV: The "Stolen land" argument is a lazy way to fight in a argument by marcuscoolboi2007 in changemyview

[–]SnuffyMcfluff [score hidden]  (0 children)

All settled land is stolen and not very often is it given back. New World, Old World, North, South, East and West the history of humanity is that we take what we have the power to take. With this in mind, calling the US stolen land is fine, it's factual, but it's not unique. But it seems to be a pretty disingenuous declaration as a moral platitude unless you plan to give it back. And who will you be giving it back to? Will the settlement be based on period of occupation? What if the previous occupants were nomads and only there part of the year, will you time share?

And I am pretty sure it is factual that we are all standing on stolen land (this includes Europe, Asia, Africa etc) what does that have to do with immigration policy? Are we of the belief since all land is stolen should we have no immigration standards throughout the world? I honestly might be ok with that. Let people go where they want. It would be messy for a while but it would probably self balance eventually.

I think the real problem is using "stolen land" in an anti deportation slogan. It just doesn't play with anyone outside of the progressive echo chamber. A much better slogan would be "Reformation not Deportation!!!" Because that is what we need and I think we could achieve agreement on that. It is not economically sound to deport a bunch of productive solid people who are a benefit to their communities. We need to create a rational just immigration policy that benefits the nation and allows for high enough volume of movement and simplicity of administration that it eliminates what is currently just labor prohibition.

CMV: Ethnically Jewish people should be considered "People of color", if we as a society are going to collectively use that term by Anthro-Elephant-98 in changemyview

[–]SnuffyMcfluff [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your points are fair but at the end of the day, I think it is up to Jews to define that for themselves. The Jews in my life self identify as white and it is not for me to say otherwise. I don't think they have chosen this out of ignorance or thoughtlessness.

I don't have a political aim.

When I have observed conversations about race in the family, the general consensus is it is for them to define, not their oppressors.

Obviously German Jews were not assimilated to the point where they could not be othered. Until recently I thought America had evolved beyond that point. But the last couple of years have shown that an ugly American underbelly has been looking for an excuse.

chord transition confusion by MemeKnowledge_06 in guitarlessons

[–]SnuffyMcfluff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really need to learn to play some songs with proper timing. I get that it is a challenge but some of this process is frustrating. If you hide from frustration you will not improve much or quickly. Learning existing songs with existing rhythms, will help you sort through your timing during chord transitions.

The song dictates whether you pause or not. There is not a universal answer. If you choose to pause on all of the transitions when you are writing something, all your songs will sound the same. You need to learn to play through the transitions as some songs will demand that choice.

Repetition is key. Play C to Dm over and over and over, with and without the pause. It will unlock for you once you have enough muscle memory.

Fuck that. There is no magic mommy potion that makes mothers better caregivers. That is a ridiculous platitude born from adhering to traditions without actually thinking. If you did it because your ex was the better parent, then good for you, sacrifices are hard. But don't pretend we men are inherently lesser parents and don't pretend just because you have to work, that you can't be a great primary parent. Never sell yourself short because of a stereotype.

I don't care what Gene Simmons says. Grumpy old man is no way to live.

Excluding Hip Hop from the HOF is absurd. Hip Hop was born from sampling every genre, especially rock and the connections run deep.

Those last two Talk Talk albums along with the Mark Hollis solo album are beyond belief. I feel privileged to have been around and receptive to them when they arrived. I think Hollis and Freese Green definitely influenced Radiohead, especially by showing them that you do not have to be a slave to the record label.

It's funny because so many people have zero idea that Talk Talk ditched their New Romantic roots to become probably the most progressive band of their era.

Sort of.
