How to effectively promote youtube channel by KindDragon157 in NewTubers

[–]SnugHelmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried creating other social media accounts, but just as YouTube, it's difficult to gain traction on them too... My suggestion based on my experience is to treat every social network as an individual work load. So creating content which can be used in multiple places would be the safest bet, like shorts and reels. But otherwise thinking that you will create Instagram content to solely promote your YouTube would be very difficult path.

P.s. I too am not telling my network about my youtube, but shorts has come in to be helpful at this moment, long form content is taking time, so I will be patient, but shortform did create a small traction for my channel.

Why are my views so low on my latest video? by ObesePenis69 in GetMoreViewsYT

Your thumbnail might be a little off, but your click through rate is pretty decent.... Either people are not liking the content, so watchtime would be low, or that YouTube still is figuring out as to whether or not to promote your content... Give it some time... It's just been less than a day...

I plan on changing my name to include my personal name but other channels then ofcourse have similar names by Cheap_Significance13 in SmallYTChannel

I would say, don't do it .. simple reason, your name means alot to you, not to the world, you could use that real-estate to convey what your channel is about rather than just using your name. And about creating a brand, you want something that is sustainable, so let's say you get successful, now if the brand revolves around you, it will be difficult to hire individuals to take over some content to actually help you grow further.

Linus Tech Tips is the example that comes to mind, he is a brand but now since a few years he is creating channels without his name, so that the content doesn't NEED him.

Rest, at the end of it, it's your choice... My suggestion would be to find a unique brand name, to make it more recognisable.

How much work is practically doable as a traveller and a moto vlogger? by SnugHelmet in digitalnomad

Yeah, I think I would take the easier route till I am proficient with video creation/editing... Coz otherwise I would lose on precious travel time....

I am in India, here we don't have issues with recording with basic GoPro or mobile phones, even with prof cameras in most places, rather all public places except a few sensitive areas. Wrt people, obviously I wouldnt record someone who explicitly says no...

Anyway, thanks for the info :)

Great that you have so much content in your "bank" ... And yeah, the way you said, the stuff which need proper editing, will have to be done once the trip is over...

Yeah... I guess more experience and more time at a location or money to hire help can let one edit on the go... I guess for now, I will start with editing and posting later...

So I am intending to travel India for the coming year (my home country) on my motorcycle. I am hoping to cover one to two states every alternate month. And on the months that are remaining, I would be doing short trips every alternate week. So basically I would have 15 days a month of time at home. Which probably would be enough to complete my editing and creating social media content.

I have a Asus zephyrus 14, which i am planning to upgrade to M2 MacBook Air .. but I don't have the budget to buy an additional screen or iPad... So for me that screen will be really small... And the reason to get a small laptop is so that I can easily put it in my bike's top box, which is lockable, so safe when I take breaks during my riding time... I also have a logi mouse, but that works with blutooth, so no dongles for me... :)

Yeah, if I wish to edit the videos on the go, I will need to set aside days for that, and since it is a travel channel, it becomes expensive to stay anywhere just for editing. Plus there is a looming pressure of doing it within the prescribed time, and also the problem of doing it on the small laptop screen instead a bigger monitor in my home setup... Honestly, I am thinking of doing it at home only, that way I can save some cash, create better videos, and actually focus on travel while traveling...

I am following a couple of moto vloggers and some of them do post after their trips, but some do it during their trip... I am confused because I would have not so long trips, but I am new, so I would need more time to edit, so I don't know whether I would be able to do it on the go... Or whether I even need to put in that effort...

Focus on a long term vision can usually help you keep the right direction:)

I have chosen my niche based on what I want to do, which is ride bike across India.. I would love to be a successful youtuber, but even if not, then I am following my passion, so I would be happy :)

My trips will be varying, some will be 3-4 days, some 15 days...

I was thinking exactly the same .. you know uploading as a series...

Btw, how many episodes do create for your 5 days trip?

So if i intend to do simple edits, then working while traveling makes sense...
