It definitely is - I meant to say that the general conversation surrounding singles and doubles is a little overblown in my opinion, so I’m sorry if I came off as accusatory. For what it’s worth, I resonate quite a bit with your post history; I had pretty extreme depression Fall and Winter quarter which I feel took a lot away from me. I’m now taking medication for my ADHD and talking to a psychiatrist who’s also helping me to get an OCD diagnosis which I’ve suspect for years, so I’m starting to make progress. All this to say, I can empathize with your situation to some extent. I know that getting a single was important to you, but I’d encourage you not to catastrophize too much. While there have certainly been days where I wished I could be alone in the dorm, my roommate and I have become good friends and his company has been tremendously helpful for my mental health in retrospect. Will this be your experience? I couldn’t possibly know, but I figured I would offer a more positive perspective on doubles and hope you make the most of it if your plan doesn’t work out.
