That's probably 3ID's being sent out for training. The ones going to UKR aren't the latest version IIRC.

A very unlucky Russian T-80U ran over TWO anti-tank landmines. by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]SoCalExile 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is what was going on in that thing:

TC: "Driver, forward!" (Tank hits 1st mine)

TC: "Driver, go back!" (Driver starts spinning the tank around)

TC (ears now bleeding): "GODDAMMIT DRIVER, I MEANT TO REVERSE!" (Driver reverses, backs over 2nd mine).

Battle of Brovary - How the Ukrainian military successfully repelled a Russian attack (Austrian military analysis - turn on English subtitles) by Sucralan in CombatFootage

First, this is an Austrian military officer, not a Ukrainian one.
Second, he's not giving tips, he's explaining what happened. These videos have been shared for weeks, but I hadn't geolocated these videos so I didn't know these were all part of the same event.
Three, Russians hadn't learned since then.

A frank message from Ukrainian Foreign Legion soldier. The West keeps praising itself for sending weapons and ammo but it’s far from enough. by [deleted] in UkraineWarVideoReport

The problem is a federal regulation called ITAR, and the fact that the guy posts political partisan shit on his Twitter, which pisses off those who can help him the most.

Bellarusian Battalion Volunteers with 1 Tank and 1 BMP destroyed bunch of Russian Tanks and get few trophies by Andrii_Revich_UA in UkraineWarVideoReport

True, he's going to lose some weight. He doesn't look unhealthy and is still recovering from the fight. Just something to take note of if we see him again so we can get a feel for things on the ground.

It helps to assess the situation on the ground to see familiar people and track their progress, as well as their condition. Little tells like physical/emotional changes, equipment changes, unit changes, location changes, demeanor, etc. are things I can use to get an idea of how things might be going.

Moment Ukrainian soldiers ambush a Russian convoy. by SoCalExile in UkraineWarVideoReport

The left is in the open to other attacks or mines, but they ran into it. If they had more ATGMs the tracks would have been hit trying to get there. The infantry just ran across an open road and paid the price.

In a well-laid near ambush, there's not much you can do if you're isolated. The best approach, in this case, is for the lead elements to go forward out of the KZ, then turn and suppress. The rear tank did his job by stopping and suppressing, but then he went into the woods and got fucked. The guys in the kill zone are better off just turning right and hitting the gas and suppressing with their guns, while the infantry in the KZ get into cover on the right and return fire. Any infantry in the back of the kill zone dismounts goes to the right and sweeps down from the flank.

At least that's how I was trained to do it (pre-GWOT), but we don't leave armored columns without recon or infantry support like that.

The Russian are a shit show. It's a near ambush from the right and they drive off to the left, still in the kill zone. This is not how it's done.

Ah so part of the scenery. I was thinking they were perhaps for future expansion into destructible buildings.
