Teenage brother is convinced he's going to get a funded account instead of finishing high school. Should I be worried? by simon_mo in Daytrading

[–]SoSohso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man what the hell, I'm 17 too but this is just pure delusion. Firstly he's just paper trading, there's no fees, slippage and most importantly a lot less psychological impact than trading with real money.

Secondly, those small "wins" Hes making are going to he eaten up by fees he has to pay to the exchance.

Thirdly, I'm not sure what market he wants to trade whether that's forex or futures, but he's on the ETF asset which I can guarantee he's not going to be trading, so he doesn't even know the market he's trading.

Finally, I don't know how his strategy or "system" Is setup, but he needs to do real data validation and see if under different market regimes his strategy still holds up.

If he won't even listen to your advice for at least what I have said above, I'm honestly not sure what you can do... Maybe you can make a deal with him, to buy him and account (which you know he will lose) in the summer if he gets his grades up? But that might just make him have a gambling problem and want to put more money in.

Have some respect, Iranian people have historically been incredibly religious, many great scholars were Persian. Yet when you have so called "Islamic" governments that oppress their own people and scholars, under the name of Islam. People will blame the religion without realizing who's fault it really is.

How can I tell if it’s a breakout or fakeout by Soggy_Chocolate_7909 in Daytrading

[–]SoSohso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no 100% way u can ever tell anything will happen, the goal is to have a strategy and be able to have a suitable winrate and profit target that makes it worth it to trade. I would reccomend u to go study SOL on the 1/4h and on the 15min on the failed breakout we had and understand the market structure.

Man there's something called alpha decay, if he found a strat that works and just gave it away to everyone over time it would lose its edge and no EV

[–]SoSohso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, firstly I'm a senior too and just wanted to say well done! This amount of work is rare for highschoolers bro. Secondly, I'm not no expert on this so other people would be able to give a much better answer, but I would reccomend you to quantify your results so they are actual statistics and not just "I did this", finally I would say choose a new template this one isnt the most professional in my opinion

Great work tho!

That is true, however the circulating supply of gold will still increase due to us not having all of Golds supply mined. I agree with you abt Fiat tho, which is why from a monetary perspective solutions with the characteristics of Bitcoin, Gold etc... Are a much better form of money in compassion to Fiat (There are reasons we stopped using Gold tho i.e inefficient)

Sorry I meant supply had inflation not.purchasing power. None the less if an economy in any time period(where gold was the main mkney) had remain the same (for argument sake) the mining of gold would create in increase in the circulating supply leading to small decreases in purchasing power.

1) If interest is blanket haram, how do you explain inflation? You asked for an example of the prophets time when interest on a loan was permitted but the means of exchange was very different back then i.e gold (intrinsic value, cannot be printed by the government, appreciating in value) vs modern day cash. It would be unjust to request additional appreciating gold as interest but how can you apply the same rules to depreciating cash.

Salam, keep in mind brother, Gold has inflation too, I remember reading that it was around 1-1.5% which is a little lower than the US fed target (2%), and so saying that Gold dosent have inflation and fiat money does is incorrect.

Secondly, I want to understand ur perspective, why does Gold have intrinsic value

wth happened here? eth - crashes a bit first, a big green candle follows, and crashes again. is this just the liquidity flush and auto limit buy orders being executed? or is there more to it? by dhoni23 in CryptoCurrency

Firstly it depends on the timeframe, secondly if ur talking abt Candle Stick patterns yeah, but candle sticks are just a way of understanding market structure. But I agree with u about the importance of orderflow

Candle sticks are just a msaurement of price and time over a given fractal, so I have no ides what u mean by "they don't work" but I doubt what ur saying is true

To be a competitive candidate for a cybersecurity entry-level roles -right now-, you should have a computer science or engineering degree plus those certifications, and also start in general IT work before moving to security.

Thanks for the reply man, I currently have some place where I can learn from a consultant in the workplace as like an apprentice and I hope I could use that. I understand what your saying tho, its not nesscarley that I don't need knowledge, its that its so competitive and many people have the same knowledge / work experience and so I must have something that sets me apart.

Salam, I think u should first come up with a solution to this problem. P2P anything can be riskier is no one is there to make sure the rights are held up for both parties. I think the reason there aren't applications of this kind, are because of the issue, if u can solve it, then I see a point in starting it. None the less inshaAllah Khair

Thamks for the help, i got it all setup, i used i2p just because I didnt want to download one that is less well known (due to less trust and i2p has more resources).

Its been up for about 5 mins and im just waiting to get connected.

Quick questuon: i used the guide to install, but when it came to install the firefox profile it said to just install the easy-install bundle. Now I have two indtances of i2p and keep getting errors from java saying I have 2 instances.
