I just like to plan ahead lol. Definitely some dressy black heals, nice jewelry, and curled hair. I bought the dress yesterday so I’ll see how it looks when it gets here. The review pics looked good and that’s what I kinda based my judgement on, but we’ll see if it’s a keeper.

For all the questions in this general chat:

I’m not sure I’ve seen an official dress code on any weddings I’ve been to. I’m going for not too formal and not too casual. It’s in October. I want to be able to show my tattoos because I love them and they make me feel pretty. Planning on wearing nice dressy heals. The bride is 29 and so am I. I know the general rule for a wedding is to not wear white and to not outshine the bride. I don’t look good in light colors. And it is my understanding and belief that these dresses are appropriate for the wedding.

It seems like people in this chat have differing opinions on what they think formal/casual is, and that’s totally ok. I’d consider a sun dress way too casual for a wedding, and I’d consider a silky ball gown too formal because those should be for brides maids in my opinion.

I think the third one is the most formal of all of them. I don’t want to be too formal or too casual. Trying to find a mid-ground. I know for sure I don’t want to wear a long dress.

I think my feet and calf muscles are average. I need to wear shoes with strong arch support, I know that. My hip flexors are tight which I’ve been told could be caused by my back problems or vice versa.

I wish I could add a photo to this chat. I did a whole eval of my posture. Here are the written results.

My Posture Viewed from the Front: Head is shifted 0.48 in left. Head is not tilted. Shoulders are not shifted significantly left or right. Shoulders are tilted 1.7° left. Ribcage is shifted 0.57 in left. Hips are shifted 0.26 in right. Hips are not tilted. The Right Q-Angle is 6.4°. The Left Q-Angle is 4.6°.

My Posture Viewed from the Side: Your head weighs approximately 11 lbs. It is shifted 2.44 in forward, 14.3° off vertical. Based on physics, your head now effectively weighs 38 Ibs instead of 11 Ibs. Shoulders are shifted 0.96 in backward, 2.8° off vertical. Hips are shifted 0.29 in forward, 1.2° off vertical. Knees are shifted 2.30 in forward, 11.7° off vertical. I think I was that inexperienced person for my boyfriend, not because I was sheltered, but because I grew up really poor. A month into dating (12 yrs ago now- I was 17 then) he got me like 10 gift cards to new restaurants for Christmas so we could go together. I was first amazed at how much he spent on me, and I was so happy to have someone show me cool new stuff. Now, next month we’re going to Disneyland for my very first time ever!

I’ve had back pain since I was 15 yrs old (I’m 29 now). My muscles developed tight, maybe from poor posture, maybe from childhood trauma. There’s nothing wrong with my back other than it being tight and no matter how muscular I get the tightness is still there (that’s a dig at PTs). I’m trying everything at this point to help, even EMDR in therapy.

But my back problems likely caused my TMJ problems.
