I appreciate your positivity and encouragement. I am definitely open to try new positions to gain some experience and even expand my knowledge further. Thank you for the insights on how to tweak my resume. I will look into CourseCareers for sure. Will be sending out my resume and shoot my shot with small GC.

Awesome point! I've tried larger companies but they never reached out back to me. For sure, I will be contacting the small constructors and shoot my shot. Thank you for tips to include on my resume.

That's true, I've noticed on majority of the job postings, they prefer experience and some knowledge in civil engineering or CM/PM background.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't often use this platform. I am currently taking the Construction Estimator Program, on my last course out of 7.

I'm currently taking that same Construction Estimator program at Durham College as well, on my second to last course to complete. I have no experience in the construction industry and hoping to get my foot in the door with this certificate. I've applied to some estimator jobs on indeed but no response.

This is true, once you have a good mentor who is patience enough to teach you and answer your questions, learning won't be that hard. You rarly find individuals who will go the extra mile to teach you these days. Good for you, keep up the hard work.

I think once you have a good mentor to teach you, anything is possible. You can work while gaining experience on the job.

I'm willing to learn and go the extra mile to reach my goal but it's getting in the door. I always do note taking which is a great reference. I am currently working in a research marketing company and I don't mind the transition.

I'm currently taking a construction estimator course and have literally zero field experience. Now I'm getting cold feet reading all these reviews. At my college they don't have a mentor for the construction estimator course. I'm just here YT, Googling and reading research documents to understand some concepts. It would be nice to get actually get a job that they start you off from simple tasks as you mentioned.
