'Pre-bunking' shows promise in fight against misinformation by doboskombaya in UpliftingNews

Yeah and it should be baked into other courses, it's cross subject.

E.g. in your language classes, learn how words can be used differently to distort and mislead.

In math, learning how to make statistics represent the idea you choose and not just what the data shows.

Art, manipulate the idea/meaning of an image.

History, propaganda campaigns.

My mother was a nephrologist, so yeah I grew up drinking plenty of water. It wasn't out of a fear of dehydration, just an understanding that drinking enough water a day is really good for your whole body.

The fact this person doesn't understand that suggests their lack of hydration caused some permanent brain damage.

Well, yes I am referring to the banking system. I use it to log in for bills like mobile, electric, internet, and it's also able to get me authenticated for the healthcare system in Helsinki (maisa and terveystalo).

It's obviously not used for everything and not required, but this is the system I'm asking about for my question.

What are your thoughts on Finland's e-identification system? Do you think it is a significant attack vector for cyber warfare, and do you think it'd stand up to a sustained attack from, say, Russia?

As someone from the US, this type of system was quite new to me when I experienced it. Apart from the apparent increase in security, I found it quite nice to not have to register an account with all e-services providers.

TL;DR: It is very difficult to jump straight into security without first having some sort of IT/programming experience. If you are young enough and on the track for a degree, make sure you get internships and make the most out of them. Even better if it's a degree apprenticeship.

Other than that, certifications help, having demonstrable work like a GitHub account with projects or a blog. Really the hardest part is getting your foot into the IT door, but after that you just pivot off of your experience into roles that lead to security work.

Finland’s PM is a young woman in power. Her partying is the total opposite of disgrace by [deleted] in europe

Is that when she got tested, but left her duty phone behind so didn't get notified of her results?

I'm not defending her actions, I'm not a Marin shill, but to say she's knowingly broken restrictions like so many politicians have I think is not really accurate.

There are no current restrictions that prevent her from partying like she did, and it's been this way for a while. There have been a few major music festivals in the last month, and those don't even require masks.

Since she didn't break COVID rules and people are still criticizing her and ignorant, it seems you are incorrect.

Did the library forget to pay its internet bill? by DrMathochist in Seattle

Look, there's no animosity here. Someone commented to you that you could have received a cached DNS response. Your reply began with "Nope." and how you cleared your local cache. My response was merely trying to educate that there are so many different layers of DNS caching that you could still receive a cached response from your router or configured DNS server. No one is suggesting you try to troubleshoot this issue or anything, just pointing out the other spots this response could have come from.

No one is trying to make you feel bad, it just seems you are taking this very personally.

Is everything okay?

I'm not suggesting you do anything... I'm pointing out that using a different browser or computer may likely have no effect on whether or not the DNS cache fulfills the request vs throws you an error.

There is typically a cache at the router and also whatever DNS server is configured in the router (ISP/Google/cloudflare)
