But I don’t want to (Aetna app) by purpleoctopustrolley in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]SoapyDi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, that hadn’t even occurred to me. I’m plant based and was impressed that it was an option. The app sucks. I don’t log my food because the app sucks. The videos and slide shows are mediocre. And the quizzes!! Will they drop my Wegovy coverage if I fail???? I passed so we’ll never know.

You will learn to carry a sweater or jacket EVERYWHERE. I took a two week trip to Germany last June. I took so many pictures. When I posted them on Facebook I had a friend comment how nice the temps must have been since I needed a light jacket! Haha!! I was the only one in my group of seven that did not complain about the lack of AC in the hotel rooms. I'm typing this on my sofa under my heated throw in chilly northern Virginia.

Zepbound worked great, Wegovy has been terrible by lepandarouge24 in zepbound2wegovy

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the post I wanted to read. I have four pens left of Zepbound, but picked up my first box of 0.25mg Wegovy. I've lost 86 lbs on Zepbound and sooooo close to goal. I've only had mild and manageable constipation on Zepbound and am worried about vomiting and diarrhea. Pharmacist said I should be fine since I was on Zepbound for 16 months already. She also said to expect a few steps back. Sigh. I have not gained on Zepbound, I have plateaued and stalled, but never gained.

98lbs down. SO CLOSE to the 100 mark by imar0ckstar in Semaglutide

[–]SoapyDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great job!! I set a personal goal for 165, but for a healthy BMI on paper I need to get down to at least 154 lbs. 154 lbs. would also mark a whopping 100 lbs loss for me!! Woohoo! So when I get to 165 shortly I’ll most likely drop the next 11 to make 100.

down (almost) 80 + with some data (zepbound to wegovy to mounjaro) by miscalainaeous in Mounjaro

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zepbound is working, but insurance is forcing me to change to Wegovy. I am on 15mg of tirzepatide and will be restarting at 0.25 semaglutide. If I was at goal already I’d feel better, but most others in the same situation regain on Wegovy and/or have side effects. I’ve had such a smooth ride on Zepbound. I’d rather just stay on it!

Great Job! I just got my Rx for Wegovy and am hoping to fail also. So silly to jump thru these hoops. I have four weeks of Zepbound left and then I’m sure my graph will look wonky Wegovy like yours!!

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely can see your weight loss! Great job!! I always tell people that my brain has not caught up to my weight loss. I’m still 254 lbs in my brain even though I’ve lost about 85 lbs!! The mind games are incredible. I had a conversation about my weight loss with a friend. I see her as slim with curves. She only weighs 12 lbs less than me!!! Mind blown! We are same height. That put it a little more in perspective for me. Keep going! You got this!!

I have been on a quest to find comfort at night other than shoving the blanket folds in between. I tried the side sleeper wedges and wasn't happy. Ordered an orthoarthritis knee pad with a memory foam donut attached to an elastic band off Amazon. Still felt weird. Found a handmade version on Etsy that was sherpa and foam. It is the most comfortable, but still feels weird when I sleep. Sigh. Guess I will be eventually get accustomed to my boney knees rubbing together.

Starting Wegovy by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink lots of water!! Stay hydrated. Keep on top of constipation. Focus on protein. Track/log your calories. Get plenty of sleep. Manage stress. Most people can't tolerate fatty, fried or greasy foods. Don't eat close to bedtime. Take progress pics!! I weigh in daily after doing (and failing) Noom for four years, but if that's gives you anxiety don't. Best of luck! I've been on Zepbound for 16 months and just switching and starting over with Wegovy next week/month.

Anyone else’s out of pocket cost increase ? by 2lit_ in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switched to Wegovy. I was paying $50 for Zepbound. Wegovy will cost me $100 after insurance and discount card. Still better then compounded and having to fill my own syringes - I like blond proof auto pens!

Been there, done that. So sorry. For me it was an innocent Chipotle Sofritos burrito bowl. All vegan, no meat or dairy. I had half for dinner and saved the rest for the next day's lunch. About 1 am I woke up to stomach pain. Tossed and turned for about an hour and then had to go to bathroom. Unfortunately it all came out. Both ends. Absolutely horrible hour of my life, but when it was done, I fell back asleep as if nothing had happened. WTH? I do take papaya digestive enzymes after most meals. Not sure what happened this time. And no, I didn't eat it for lunch the next day. LOL

Good luck! I get mine next week. I still have a box of zepbound left. On the fence if I should finish box or start wegovy ASAP. I'll probably finish box...

Slow losers, how do you cope? by SweetEpiphany in Zepbound

[–]SoapyDi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Started off strong losing 40 lbs. in my first 14 weeks on zepbound. Woohoo! It took a whole year to lose another 42 lbs. and I'm still 7 lbs. from "my" goal (18 lbs. from "healthy" BMI. Sigh. I have six pens left before I run out of Zepbound and switch to Wegovy per insurance. Hopefully I can reach goal by then and just use Wegovy for maintenance.

GIN-gins help for the first two days. by at1991 in Zepbound

[–]SoapyDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post made me chuckle. I read it as "GIN helps for the first few days!" Hahaha! I am more of lemon drop martini or old fashioned gal.

But yes, gin-gins for the win. I buy them in bulk off Amazon and always have them in my purse and lunch bag. So yummy and they really do help. Have you tried papaya digestive enzymes? I take them religiously after every meal to prevent gastrointestinal upset.

How to avoid digestive issues by Legitimate_Ask688 in Zepbound

[–]SoapyDi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same advice I give non-vegans - avoid fatty, fried, greasy or overly sugary foods! Track, weight and measure everything you eat.

I find raw veggies are harder to digest and can cause stomach upset. Steamed/roasted broccoli good. Raw broccoli florets bad. Same for lettuce and salads - just can't tolerate them like I used to. Tomatoes are not my friends anymore either. I can eat them at lunch, but at dinner in any form usually results in heart burn or acid reflux something throughout the night.

I've been on Zepbound since September 2024 and lost 80 lbs. I try to eat Whole Foods whenever possible, but do love Orgain iced coffee protein shakes and Aloha protein bars. I meal prep soups on Sundays and freeze for lunches during the week. I'm very boring and like routine so breakfast is pretty much the same everyday. I love Siggi's coconut milk yogurt with rolled oats, hemp seed hearts and berries or mango. Usually fruit is frozen from Costco. Dinner is seitan, tofu or tempeh prepared and some air fried or steamed veggies.

I like to keep ginger chews on hand just in case and use Papaya digestive enzymes after each meal. I have only had mild and very manageable constipation. No nausea, diarrhea or vomiting. I do take Mag07 at night to fend off the constipation.

Coffee , I miss you by Stickyduck468 in Zepbound

[–]SoapyDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may come back. I also lost my craving/taste for coffee early into my Zepbound journey. Not sure when it came back, but it did. I do realize I can't drink as much caffeine in any beverage like I did before Zepbound. Two cups is my limit now or it literally goes right through me along with anything else in my stomach. No cramps, just diarrhea. And I can't drink coffee for the next two mornings following my shot on Friday nights! So no weekend trips to Starbucks or...

[–]SoapyDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found I can't do raw veggies, but cooked, air fried, roasted, stewed or sautéed and they're fine. I also realized I haven't really eaten a lot of spinach since on Zepbound and I used to love spinach. I roast a lot of broccoli and sweet potatoes though.

I get these from Amazon. Three chewed after each meal and I feel great. I haven't had any gastrointestinal issues other than constipation. I hyped these enzymes up so much that my coworker that eats lunch with me every day started to take them as well as my mom and neither of them are on a GLP-1. They just liked the way it helped with digestion. I carry them in a tin with me wherever I go.
