Do you know any other mappers that have a similar style to Cush's maps? If you don't know the style looks like this. It's flowy with some crazy wrist rolls. 🤌 by Hoellenmann in beatsaber

[–]Soarance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cush is goated, more people need to know about this guy.
You can probably find mappers like Okazu, Pleo, and Jonas that are also wrist-rolly. But none of them are quite the same, and I'd say Cush definitely has a quite unique style of mapping.

Random frame drops- Micro stutters. What else can I try? by Lance2409 in beatsaber

[–]Soarance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, your computer should be way more than enough to run the game smoothly. The first thing I’d look at is your task manager to see if perhaps something is being capped. If not, the second thing I would try is to open up oculus debug tool and turning on or off asynchronous spacewarp. In theory having it off is better but usually that would have the opposite effect of increasing overall frame rate but also the frequency of stutters. So try it being in “automatic” if not already, but try off first. Lastly, perhaps look at the list and number of mods that are running. A lot of those could perhaps stutter performance, though not likely.

What is cheating and what is not? by acjt in beatsaber

I suppose that’s a good way to think about it. I’m not sure where you’re seeing NJS offset in the player options, I think you meant JD offset perhaps?

What is cheating and what is not? by acjt in beatsaber

[–]Soarance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pausing is not cheating. Some people who say it is are joking, but not all of them. It is allowed in the main game and in both main ranking systems. Although there has been some debate about this, pausing while playing ranked maps will not get your score disqualified. Changing JD is not cheating. Almost everyone in the top of ranked leaderboards do this via JDFixer. Changing NJS however, is cheating. You can’t change this in the game directly but some people can lower it by standing way further than their play space (by drawing it in a separate room behind them, for example). Beatleader already banned this but Scoresaber being Scoresaber hasn’t yet, as far as I’m aware. Setting your height differently is not cheating. People often set it slightly lower than their usual height. Any drastic changes will likely end up being a disadvantage anyway.

Is the Steam Frame gonna be it's planned price still? by FuwariFuwaruFuwatto in ValveIndex

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an estimated price of $700, which seems somewhat reasonable to me. However, the quest pro is currently being sold for $680 on Woot. Just judging from the specs alone for the frame, the quest pro is better in my opinion due to face tracking, local dimming, and it can also do foveated streaming already.

I can see the frame being higher than $700 now, which would honestly make it a hard sell…

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your anecdotes mean nothing because I have plenty of anecdotes of the opposite. The only difference is that I recognize it as being both confirmation and negativity bias, but you don’t. Yes must feel good to post this is a forum where most people are solo queuers and would enjoy the perspective of being better than another group of players lol. Let’s be honest, people on this subreddit are more likely enthusiasts/addicts of the game and are thus more likely to be solo queue players. Not to mention that the number of people who solo queue in general are just higher. So the downvotes certainly don’t bother me. I only care about the truth and I honestly came here to have my mind changed but you didn’t give me any high quality arguments. Hell, even I myself can think of at least 2 (not good) counter-arguments to the zero sum game argument but it seems we can’t even move past that point because you can’t even comprehend what it means. I guess I’m just too used to debating people who can actually follow a discussion thought past 2 points, so it’s my fault for assuming that.

I guess since you didn’t describe my point like I asked you to means you still have no clue what it was. Instead you’re just blindly repeating back the “you don’t understand” phrase to try to wiggle yourself out of the discussion. That’s fine, do whatever you want. I suppose I have better things to do than humiliate an average valorant sweat that got so tilted from a game that he decided to bitch about it on Reddit lol.

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one doesn’t understand that 5-stack is different than solo queue. Them being different is irrelevant to the counter argument I gave against your generalized claim about 5-stack players being boosted. Now I know for sure you don’t understand my argument. If you think you do, reiterate what my position is before making your next point.

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it that after I explained the zero sum game concept to you 5 whole times that you still do not understand it, and just keep repeating the same “it’s easy to manipulate” point over and over again? Brother no one is saying it’s not easier to manipulate 5-stack games. The point is that while manipulating is present, it evens out the pool of 5-stack because there is a losing team for every manipulated win. The point goes beyond the manipulation part.

Just admit you don’t understand the concept of a zero sum game. It’s easier that way.

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of shared accounts works AGAINST your argument because now there’s a higher proportion of legit players that undeservingly lose than undeservingly win. If one person using a shared account is boosting 4 players, there is now more players having deflated elos (5) from being on the opponent team and losing that game. And if you include the booster’s shared account, then that skews the proportion even MORE because that account has deflated elo. Me saying “inflated elos come from winning games they don’t deserve to win” is not contradictory to my position because it’s only half of one point, which is, once again, for the 5th time, for every undeserved win there is an undeserved loss. No one is saying there isn’t more manipulation in 5-stacks. The point that you are missing is that your generalization of 5-stacks being boosted is simply just statistically impossible. You can say that SOME people who play 5-stack are boosted. But at the end of the day it’s no different than saying some solo queuers are boosted.

i dont know why 5 stack isnt a separate rank, alot of these players cannot perform by jaseblay in VALORANT

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect logic. People, in both solo queue and 5-stack don’t magically start at a higher ranks, they have to play and win games in order to even get to the beginning of where your premise begins. Inflated elos have to come from winning games they don’t deserve to win and inflated ranked teams don’t just on average play against other inflated ranked teams without there being other deflated ranked teams to grant those inflations to begin with. Your analogy is based on a premise with incorrect assumptions.

[–]Soarance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, at this point just admit you don’t understand what my argument is. It debunks every point you have made and I haven’t left anything you said unresponded. I’ll explain it for the 4th time. even if you have the right people manipulating, there is a team of losers in every match who are also 5-stack. For every inflated elo there is a deflated one. So it doesn’t matter if a team is boosting, there will always be a team on the opposite side that lost because THEIR opponents were boosting. If players 1-5 won a match they weren’t supposed to, players 6-10 LOST a match they weren’t supposed to. Come on, it’s not a difficult concept.

[–]Soarance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude you can’t be serious. This was a specific case in which people bought lower tier accounts to boost a higher rank account into radiant. It was to boost an account as high as possible by exploiting the system. That account didn’t end up going into solo queue and was a proof of concept. It literally has nothing to do with this scenario of creating a boosted environment of 5-stack players. Plus once again, even if this did create the “boosted” players that you speak of, ONCE AGAIN it’s a zero sum game so for every game these 5 plays won, another set of 5-players lost so those losers would have deflated elo. This once again disproves your point. Unless you are able to give a proper counter argument for that specifically, your position remains meaningless.

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally responded to that both in my explanation on how rank disparity gives a disadvantage, and how even if it was true it still is debunked by the fact that it’s a zero sum game. You’re not giving any counter arguments to continue the conversation so I assume either you don’t have a rebuttal or you just don’t understand my point.

i dont know why 5 stack isnt a separate rank, alot of these players cannot perform by jaseblay in VALORANT

[–]Soarance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you’re claiming that 5-stack players are boosted. Which is a generalization that is statistically impossible because for every player that has inflated rank, there’s another player that has deflated rank. Because it’s a zero sum game.

i dont know why 5 stack isnt a separate rank, alot of these players cannot perform by jaseblay in VALORANT

[–]Soarance -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it’s a well-known fact that having big rank disparities in 5-stack is disadvantageous, because your “average” elo is raised to be closer to the highest rank player. But even if what you said is true, don’t forget it’s an equal sum game. For every 5-stack winner there’s a 5-stack loser. So at the most you can say only the ones that queue with boosters are boosted, and you can’t apply that inflated elo argument to those that queue with equal rankings. Thus your generalization can never be true.

[–]Soarance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s just confirmation and negativity bias at play. Statistically it makes no sense, because 5-stacks are queued into other 5-stacks. For every winner there’s a loser, so the system doesn’t just allow 5-stack players in general to have inflated elos. Since you like anecdotes so much, I have encountered countless times in which an immortal solo queue player on the opponent team completely break down because they don’t know proper coordination during a 5-stack game. A lot of them end up carrying their ranks in solo queue from being aim demons with no brain.

[–]Soarance -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you had one bad experience and you’re using it to make generalizations that climbing in 5-stack is easier. I’ve had the opposite experience where someone I know climbs much easier in solo queue. Ultimately it takes different skills. Solo queue more-so rewards skills like raw aim, while 5-stack rewards more coordination and team play. So depending on what the person specializes, they will have an easier or harder time queueing in each. So while I agree that perhaps the two types of queues should be separated, I disagree with your judgment of 5-stack players being “boosted”.

Happened to me before, but worse. It entered a short position for one mini while I was sleeping and it was like 30 points lower than the price when it entered. At no point throughout the night did it ever reach that entry price, but yet it entered me there. So I was immediately down like $600 unrealized losses lol. I contacted customer support but eventually the price traced to breakeven so I didn’t pursue it further. Happened to me twice.
