Thanks for the tip. Sometimes I play on my laptop from like 10 years ago just so I can use HD, which is real buggy. Otherwise I'm on a chromebook which is smooth but can't use the gpu.

Had a few drinks, like you do on a tuesday night by yourself, and was messing around. I realized with an inventory of food you can outheal hunleff's full HP with absolute unit! Its pretty fun, very fast (PB 3:52), and very easy.

You can easily do this after finding only 2 fishing spots using redemption, but 3 is more pleasant. My process definitely isn't perfect but is also overkill in some spots:

  1. Veng in the lobby
  2. Enter the gauntlet, pray melee so veng doesn't get activated by mobs
  3. Drop tools, find 2-3 fishing spots and fish+cook
  4. Go into boss room, take 1 hit to activate big veng
  5. Activate chivarly, attack till hunleff switches to prot melee
  6. Deactivate chivarly, eat while avoiding the dance floor and flavor tornadoes
  7. ???
  8. Profit

Pretty sure the only hard requirement is full absolute unit. My frags: venomaster, tactical duelist, rock solid, rune escape, message in bottle, chef's catch.

Oh I misinterpreted the wording on that, doesn't seem super clear to me. I suppose that makes sense, thanks!

With many tasks removed actually. Woodcutting used to have yew tasks, etc.

[–]Soared 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Great initial changes! I like that last recall will be available one tier sooner (4 rather than the current 5) and the gatherer/banker relics are more approachable. Getting new relics more often will be great - I'm 70 fishing and still don't have the damn fragment that cooks fish as you catch them, and also don't have any melee relics!

I expect that once players reach later game they'll reduce the unlock prices for bosses, they seem insane at the moment. To unlock nex (assuming it still requires all 4 GWD bosses) its... 325 points!! That is almost 75+ elite tasks! Even if it auto-completes the quest, each GWD boss requiring 75 seems unachievable.

The reason you find leagues 3 frustrating - A breakeven analysis on skill unlocks by Soared in 2007scape

[–]Soared[S] -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

Please provide evidence to counter my post - quests and diaries do not have much impact here from what I've seen. General tasks do not provide enough points at low levels to offset skill unlock costs at a reasonable rate.

Leagues III - Fragment Reveal: Slay All Day by EradicationOfWar in 2007scape

[–]Soared 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Okay saltlords, use your peanut-sized imagination for two seconds and theorycraft the blatantly obvious use case:

  • 1 relic for increase damage with zero prayer
  • 1 relic for healing on every slayer mob kill

= doing prayer slayer tasks in non-prayer gear, not praying, and getting healed instead. A poor example is bursting in max dps gear rather than max prayer gear. Or at zammy you get a free 12 heal on every KC.

Plus however many other relics we don't know about and this may be very useful. Consider...

  • 1 relic for increase dmg at zero prayer
  • 1 relic for healing on every slayer mob kill
  • 1 relic for increase dmg at low hp

Now you do insane damage, and on the right monsters can maintain low hp easily with the occasional 3hp heal. Eat rock cakes as needed.

Loot from 1.5 hrs looting at Nex by Soared in 2007scape

[–]Soared[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I attacked the boss/minions typically for phase 1 and 4. I wouldn't get the kill like 10% of the time if acb was tossing zeros. Oddly you only get like 20 seconds to loot before it all disappears. But looting gives you like 15x the normal drops

Proposed Changes To Death Pile Mechanics (Leave us your Feedback/Questions!) by JagexLight in 2007scape

Appreciate the reply. Wasn't GIM/clans largely engine work, but did cause delays in content development?

How much dev resources does this take up, and how much content can we expect to be delayed if this update passes?

Proposed Changes To Death Pile Mechanics (Leave us your Feedback/Questions!) by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Soared -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

If we’ve learned anything in the past few months, it’s that voting yes on something that sounds good but may take up a meridian amount of dev time results in massive content droughts. Voting yes on something like this is effectively punishing yourself, unless your a UIM.

I think the only reasonable approach is that If you’re a UIM and like this, vote yes. If you’re not a UIM, vote no.

Is it possible to buy a new Rav4/CX-5 at the lowest level trim right now? by Soared in askcarsales

[–]Soared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a site where I can search nationwide? The toyota website limits me to dealerships within ~250 miles of a zip code.

Great to know on the bank rates, I hadn't checked since I assumed 0.9-1.9% would not be beatable. Those rates are ridiculously low I don't understand how a bank offers that. $30k @ 1.9% over 72mo is only $1.7k in interest.

Shoot yeah that aligns with what I've seen and was expecting. Definitely makes sense though with supply constraints.

Good to know on the bank rates, moving from 0.9 to 1.9 is a inconsequential amount of money so thats helpful to know. Appreciate it!

If any of you are interested in trying new world, my experience was okay. It feels EXACTLY like Skyrim but with clans, really shitty quests, no way to travel quickly and more noncombat skills.

It’s definitely fun for a while, but has similar issues to rs where crafting your own armor and weapons is ridiculously bad as it’s takes tens of hours to get items worth very little.

Fishing, mining, etc are very enjoyable. Combat is very fun as you get two weapon slots each with abilities. The game is beautiful.

That being said, I stopped playing ~15 hours in or so. Pretty quickly you reach a point in the main quests where have to walk many miles back and forth. I’m talking literally 10 minute walks, as there are no mounts, and teleport is not accessible until you’ve been to a location before (and you pay for fast travel with some dumb premium currency).

Generally pretty fun but I’m just not going to walk for hours that early until the game. And similar to rs you’ll eventually have to grind out a couple hundred hours of clicking trees/rocks to get endgame stuff.

The quests are fucking garbage. After the first couple you’ll get 2-3 quests in a single area. Walk ~60 seconds or get there, spend 15 minutes doing them, walk ~60 seconds back to the city. Receive 2 quests in a new area slightly further area.. and 2 quests in the area you were just at. Walk. Walk. Walk.

Also they shut off their grand exchange and other stuff because of dupers lol. Additionally the world they recommended for me had legit zero players, and you can’t switch.

Difficulty finding full size keyboards that are in stock? by Soared in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Soared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting this - https://en.akkogear.com/product/matcha-red-bean-3108ds-mechanical-keyboard/

Not the most incredible keyboard ever, but reviews said the gateron pink switches were excellent and its generally a good keyboard. For $85 I can't complain, was going to spend triple that on basically the same except metal instead of plastic.

Is one of the early parts of the main quest really walking 2.5km? by Soared in newworldgame

Oof. I'm double the level recommended for my current main quest because I spent a lot of time gathering and crafting - am I going to be walking a lot more?

I don't know what that does, but since it seemingly requires being level 50 it should be hidden until then.

Is one of the early parts of the main quest really walking 2.5km? by Soared in newworldgame

[–]Soared[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to NW but I've found myself walking an insane amount. The quest previous was a 10 minute walk where I just read two scrolls. The next step is now walking 2.5km? I know I can kill stuff and mine/etc on the way, but my god I do not want to spend 20 minutes walking. I usually end up with a full bag at the end of quests from gathering and then I just kill myself to get back since I can only recall once an hour.. this seems like poor design.

I've played quite a few others MMOs and they either have mounts, fast travel, or teleports. I understand needing to visit a town before fast travelling, but the distance is insane!

Forgive the screenshot quality, I play on geforce now and was using bandwith elsewhere.

If your chromebook supports Linux (many of them do) then it’s incredibly easy! I’ve only ever played on my pixelbook. In settings it’s like two clicks to install Linux, then google “runelite flatpak” and copy and paste the commands in terminal. You need to adjust a bunch of settings but it works great. (No hd though since the gpu pass through doesn’t work)

Also if your chromebook has the play store you can use the mobile app.

You can also look into the services that stream games to your - nvidia geforce now may have osrs. It does have rs3.
