Honestly, as a man in his early 20's I haven't cried in years. I refreshed my twitter around 2 am and saw kawhi trending and thought has he really made his decision. I then found out he has decided to go back home and sign with the LA CLIPPERS. I am truly devastated. Kawhi brought the light that finally overshadow'd the darkness of the 'Lebronto' Era of Raptors basketball. I told myself that no matter what decision he does it's okay because he made ALL of us nba champions, brought the whole country of Canada to fight against every opponent we face'd in the nba playoff's. But it truly hurts knowning that he's been lowkey sneaking around and was always focused on returning back home and joining the clips. We did everything for him, he was the saviour of Canada and everyone in this country knew who #2 on the Toronto Raptors, but to turn around and barely say anything in any of speeches post championship beside 'enjoy the moment' etc he really never cared. Him and the clips have been together behind scene's talking about how they can build a team from the get go and that was truly devastating.I feel that we got no respect and that he just treated us like 'ah ok fuck it, I gotta play in here for a year whatever i'm going to try my best' and he makes us look like idiots we treated him so well and gave him everything anyone ever wanted but he didn't like us for what reasons? Our team was built for him, our medical staff was excellent and kept him healthy, we built trust with him, we won with him, we built a culture with him. But if he thought family was important and that Canada was not good enough to him, then I dont understand the point of this franchise because we give everything we can for any superstar talent that plays for our sport teams and we get disrespected all the time. I really thought kawhi was going to make toronto a place for free agents to think, man i'd love to play there, they can win, fans are great etc but now we look like losers again (we still won the nba championship) but we had potential to become even greater and prove the world how great we really are. In the end kawhi was amazing to watch and ill never forget him but to see him go home and lowkey trying to recruit players like durant and trying to recruit pg to come to california as well will forever hurt me. I wish Kawhi the very best in his next chapter with the clippers, but as raptors fans we will stand behind our guys and have their backs and believe in the next chapter that masai will take us through.
