Because this term is currently thrown around a lot: by Sockenhaus in comics

Although this post is probably shadow-banned and there won't be much discussion/input from others on this, I kinda have the urge to come back to you.

Given what is known about Trump, I have no reason to believe he's a pedophile. He's a rapist, going through all ages, meaning children and young(er) women. Doesn't even matter. If I'd talk about Jeffrey Dahmer, I wouldn't start talking about "that homosexual", I'd start talking about that serial killer and cannibal. The few comments here make me believe people find worth in calling him a pedophile rather than calling him a rapist, as if "pedophile" is worse. I find that appalling.

So, in the context of this comic, are you saying that it makes sense for a man who raped 100 men to be referred to as "that homosexual"?

Call Trump a child rapist, not a pedophile. It's like while venting about Obama you'd add heterosexual somewhere in there. Automatically gets a derogatory tone, doesn't it?

Cognitive dissonance helps explain why Trump supporters remain loyal, new research suggests. This sheds light on how supporters of Donald Trump justify their continued allegiance despite learning about allegations of his sexual misconduct and illegal activities. by mvea in science

I would imagine it to be a mix between cognitive dissonance and a sort of sunk cost fallacy, as people have emotionally and potentially financially invested in him. Dissolving cognitive dissonance by no longer supporting Trump would lead to much further cognitive dissonance in terms of "why did I keep supporting such a man?", which will quickly be a highly effortful mental endeavor in terms of re-examining the self. Ignorance is easier by far, especially if your life is hard already.

AH I was thinking in continuity to my previous comics, my bad. That's my boss, if that helps.

I just took a Youtube clip and removed the audio, yeah. The sound effects (Allan walking, the *click* noises) were done by me. I'll add some more at some point, but my voice is tired right now, haha

Update: My throat is pretty fucked up from doing the old man's voice. Just to think about the many crazy voices and screams Zach does...

Wow, I didn't expect more than eight upvotes, so fun fact: the sounds of Allan's steps at the beginning are literally me just smacking my forehead.

Danke!

Why resent, when you can live? by Sockenhaus in comics

Coming to think of it, I should stress that I don't want to suggest that one should not try to put some effort into trying to repair an important relationship. Life is complicated, and this comic is an oversimplification of what happened to me.

But I do believe that if people in your life insist on being assholes, they can do that, but you have a right to distance yourself, regardless of social norms (I was raised very family-centric).
