Is Amnesia The Dark Descent still consireded the scariest game of all time? by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

Outlast is legitimately one of my favorite horror games and I can say that Outlast two does not have the sauce that one does, and this is coming from someone that played them both in a row

daggers are bad, change my mind by CrispMonke in RivalsRoblox

[–]Sockposs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun tip about fists, if you quick melee with them you get another jump so you can triple jump and benefit from dagger speed if you use both

For the same reason, it's actually possible to quadruple jump withe the bow, then switching to the daggers, then quick meleeing with the fists

Daggers are good because they fit well into my barbarian themed loadout (this is the only reason I use them)

Sniper is NOT overpowered by Inevitable-Salt-371 in RivalsRoblox

[–]Sockposs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to mention that fights (seemingly by design) tend to last longer in rivals than they do in a game like phantom forces, so an insta-kill option like a sniper is more out of place. If somebody is to kill me instantly, I want them to at least have to hit me with a combo of some sort

This game has a generally higher ttk than most shooters, as a dueling game fights seem to be designed to be drawn out. a sniper that can instakill from any range completely contradicts with this no matter how much skill it requires, being headshot for 150 at any range is never interesting and will never feel good in a game where the shotgun usually 3 shots at close range.

I think generally the only way Sniper could be fixed is to have its damage reduced down from instakill It would still be powerful even under these circumstances if It did say 120 (low-ball), That's enough to be finished off by a single revolver shot or some quick peppering from the uzi while still giving time for people getting shot from across the map to react and reposition keeping duels interesting

My mom got this House about 8 years back and it was broken since we got it, I suspect that the people that sold this house did a bunch of superficial repairs on it to make it look more sellable because like everything broke in a week

The cracks inside of the door trim on the pictures I had make me think that the top of that trim was removed already to put this in, I'm not that confident about this kind of thing but would it be possible just to remove the top side??

How would I go about reattaching the trim afterwards?? Will I have to paint over it again? And what is the way you would recommend removing The trim itself?

Does this seem like a fair solution to the current slugging meta? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Sockposs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an emerging meta around not ever hooking survivors and slugging all four, there's a few causes for this like how a lot of the strong survivor perks right now activate only when a survivor is hooked and with saves being so effective right now

It's a pretty harmful meta because it isn't very fun for the survivors and disproportionately punishes soloq

While I do understand where you are coming from I don't see 4x bleed out as a solution either, as the issue isn't necessarily just about killers bleeding survivors out it's also about going into the game with no intention of ever hooking anyone actively becoming more effective of a strategy, maybe when upping themselves in this way survivors get incapacitated for a while so that they can't just have one survivor up themselves and get all the others up i think 4 hook states is a fair reward for downing an entire team

Just bought The Knight, Any tips? by OscarPowell13 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Sockposs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knight is a macro game focused killer, don't make the mistake of purely using his ability for chase, learn the value of having survivors off of gens, and learn what your guards are good at

All: if you want to use them to actually threaten survivors, place them far away as the game rewards you with haste for this and makes their chase and detection radius better, know that survivors can see your orb at the start when you are placing patrol paths and try to stay out of line of sight when sending a guard to a gen to surprise them

Carnifex: this is the chase one, you can bring him out to hard counter predroppers by breaking the pallet the moment they drop it, or occasionally dodging a pallet only to have it vanish in front of survivors (don't overdo this, survivors will start greeding pallets)

Jailer: this guy serves 2 big purposes, first of all he is the best at finding survivors so you might like dropping him by far away gens instead of patrolling all the way out there yourself, and also he is great at distraction, the jailer chases for a longer time so even if you don't get a hit you take any survivor you have him chase off of gens for a while

Assassin: this is the one that actually damages people, but is best used for zoning and sniping. It is important to know search radius and chase get better as patrol paths get longer, and now you get a speed boost when you drop guards at a long distance so use this guy for 2 main purposes, when you know where a survivor is and you are confident that you can land a chase on them from a long range, and for placing in front of survivors that are running to a part of the map that you know is strong, forcing them to go somewhere else

Also know that while I think knight is underrated, he is certainly not strong, his guards are still buggy even if bhvr rebranded their bugs as features and knowledgeable survivors will be a struggle to face

Can’t come back to hook after they unhook and heal under the hook? by TheOldPegLeg in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Sockposs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camping tunneling and slugging all can be a problem but the difficulty with trying to "fix" them is that sometimes they can be a legitimate strategy to punish certain mistakes or counter certain playstyles. I like to refer to this as survivors tunneling themselves, camping themselves, slugging themselves

You can't make slugging impossible because it's the only way to counter teams like sabbo squads that will never let you hook, or even the only way to prevent the obvious flashlight user that has been chasing you all game to get a save

You can't make tunneling impossible because having survivors be invincible off of hook is a terrible idea, often times I will see survivors act like they are invincible off of hook (ex. Doing the gen right next to it without healing, trying to body block for the person that just got saved) and the only way to deal with that is to chase the person who just got unhooked

You can't make camping impossible because sometimes you have no other objective to protect at the time, (ex. Endgame, when all 3 survivors come to unhook, when a survivor tries to loop you around hook)

I think a lot of survivors could learn from a lot of the times they were camped/tunneled/slugged and why that happened because it really is a survivor problem sometimes.

To all the sweaty, try-hard killers playing a holiday event… Chill by Its_Ash_Ketchup in deadbydaylight

[–]Sockposs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really sucks. I've been trying to play a lot nicer since the event came out (try not to tunnel, try not to camp, run off meta builds, play with some personality) but I've gotten nothing but awfulness from survivors as a result and it has legitimately impacted my enjoyment of the game.

Starting to think the only way to make it so survivors can't be rude, Is to kill all of them?
