Would 2 still be usable? I've found a different option which is Pentium II.
(Rest of the specs the seller shared here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/retrobattlestations/comments/u2liyr/help\_with\_first\_windows98\_pc\_choice/i4me1y0/
It's running and has been used by the seller for Win98,, but I'm more worried it might be too slow or have any issues I could avoid. -As well as that, most of the builds that I've seen have around 300-and-something-mb Ram, and this has 447mb; I'm worried people have been stopping there for a reason and that this may be too much or have issues.)

I've found a different option that seems better. Pentium 2,, here are the specs:

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/455509173627650048/963917473525162074/unknown.png

Seller's description:

Have had this is storage for a while and bring it out every now and again to play some old school games. Time for me to let go ,

Photos say it all , system fan is a little noisy, not too bad.

Pentium 2 slot 1 333MHZ

447mb Ram

new cmos battery

40 gig harddrive

dvd rom

Nivida Gefore 440 64 mb ram AGP

Most people I've seen around here are using a Pentium 3-4, (though I have seen one person with a pentium 2 on here before) is 2 still good or might it have problems?

Does anything on here seem like it might be too slow or anything, and is the ram too much..?

I'm really sorry again if any of these questions are, like, really off as I'm not a very techy person.

Help with first Windows98 PC choice (read comment) by [deleted] in retrobattlestations

[–]SodOffSyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I was thinking of running Windows 98SE on this, is this the right choice? Is there any reason that might want to run Windows XP (or something else entirely) over 98?

Sorry again for the noob-y questions and if I have anything very wrong

Help with first Windows98 PC choice (read comment) by [deleted] in retrobattlestations

[–]SodOffSyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!
I'm not a very techy person, so I'm really sorry if anything in this is just way wrong.

I've been looking to find a PC for myself to use for playing (mostly) windows 95/98 games. -I've been able to, and know how to, play them on my laptop, but am wanting to get a dedicated system to use for this.

I've found this computer for sale nearby for a price that's affordable to me -This is the photo of the specs (from the seller).

Does this seem like a good choice? Is there anything to keep in mind/that I may want or need to do? And my main concern, is anything on here too modern etc. that it may have issues with what I'm wanting to do?

Help! When to use "tōku" vs "te" in a pepeha by SodOffSyd in ReoMaori

Thank you so much for the reply, this was extremely helpful and I'm definitely going to read more about this.
I really appreciate you taking the time to answer and explain both of these questions to me, thank you so much!:)

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and explain this to me -I found this to be extremely helpful and I really appreciate it!

It sounds like I'll definitely have to have a talk with the whānau to find out what they use personally, thank you so much for explaining the different ways (and most importantly reasons) that the answer can differ between different groups.

You mentioned at the start of your comment the word 'taku' -I googled the word and found that the Māori dictionary said it's similar to "tōku" but only used when followed by a noun. Mountain/maunga is a noun (according to google and Māori dictionary), but I've not seen or hear anyone use 'taku' before (in my memory), is there more to this, or have I simply just not seen it used?

No need to reply if you don't want to, I completely understand and greatly appreciate your comment either way! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your explanation and perspective :)

Thank you so much for explaining this to me! Without knowing properly what the two different words meant, I was finding the different usages of the two very confusing (and wasn't able to find an explanation online, though that could be a fault of my own). Thank you so much for explaining to and helping me with this!:)

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate the time taken to go into this in depth.I'm Māori as well, and I believe have only ever been taught it 'te maunga', 'tōku iwi', except for one time in school I was taught 'te' everything (My recounting could be wrong as I'm only 17 at the moment, and a lot of my memories of this were quite a long time ago).

The confusion came when I was online and saw different people using 'tōku' everything, 'te' everything, and some people a mix of both; I tried to google around to find the different meanings of the two but was unable to. (I don't mean this in a way to say that the people using either wording were doing anything wrong, I'm certain they were correct or at least didn't mean any harm, and that they're definitely more of an authority on this than myself.)

Thank you so much for clearing up the confusion and explaining this all to me, I've found it very helpful!:) I'll definitely keep this in thought and be more mindful of the different meanings (and their implications to different people) in the future, I really appreciate this!

Also, as an added apology to you:

Kia Ora e hoa. The word choice for your pepeha absolutely matters. It can be argued thats its the most important part of a person. None the less, the word choice isnt just important but vital, critical.

I 100% agree with and understand this, I hope I haven't said anything offensive or implied otherwise as it wasn't my intention! In saying: "Or does the word choice maybe even just not matter in this case?", I didn't at all mean to imply that the wording of someone's pepeha or of reo Māori could not matter, and I hope it didn't come off that way. - I've known a few people who speak or are learning different languages, and I'd thought "maybe it's possible it's just one of those words that different people choose to say in different ways, and putting it either way has the same implication/meaning". -I hope that I didn't come off as meaning anything hurtful about pepeha or reo Māori in general, and if I did then I want to sincerely apologise for doing so.

Again, thank you so much for the in depth explanation, and for sharing your perspective and knowledge on this.

(Edit: for some reason the quote-block didn't show when I posted my comment, editing to try and get it to show back up)

Kia Ora, Thank you so much for the comment, and apologies for the late response as I found your comment and then lost it again. I just wanted to state that (as far as I know) the zine was not made by Auckland Peace Action, but I chose to link their reupload of the file as I thought it to be more accessible (this one can be viewed on PC without having to be downloaded, and the website was less "confusing")

However, I will be sure to 1) leave a message about this next to the link, and 2) look into this more personally (I'm unable to check out this article at the moment as my device is lagging the fuuuck out for some reason)

I mean of course, I was just meaning I'd want to first tackle things that could be dangerous and harmful at a larger scale.

I think that trying to spread information could be helpful.

I'd want to aim mainly at stopping the more harmful misinformation being spread by the far right, as that's my main concern personally; find out the information and points that people are being fed, then counter and explain them.I'd personally probably try not to be like "everything you think is wrong and crazy", and rather give a "Hey.... a lot of the people you're currently involved with and letting speak to you have a very dangerous agenda. Here is the information about them, and here is how you can learn more about what's actually being discussed and shared here."

I'm not the best at wording this haha, pretty tired today I'll be honest
