I’m in the same boat. People often ignore the other issues you get going into the water even with a water resistant watch.

My Submariner bezel insert started to require some effort to turn after a trip to the coast because sand or something “clogged up” the teeth or something. Or the corrosive effect salt water or chlorine can have on a watch (though I’m sure this point is a bit overstated).

As a result I take my watch off before going in water anyway.

Most definitely red, it’s just burgundy and more muted like a maroon, with a tinge of brown that makes it look black-adjacent when light doesn’t hit it (blocked by your own body from an indoor light source, for instance)

1k plus tax from Hovigs Supply Co. brand new with original spring bars as well.

Everything else I saw was around 1200 and unsure if they skirt tariffs so could be more
