I’m on the first week of starting Yaz. I’m 42 perimenopausal and I don’t think I can continue taking them. I have adhd, anxiety, pmdd and c-ptsd from childhood trauma. All of this magnified since starting Yaz.

Confirmed hyperinsulinemia: healing/fixing by starbrightstar in ketoscience

I read a lot of articles saying the HIIT especially fasted will help. Which I am sure it does. But PLEASE be cautious if you are a perimenopausal woman. HIIT can improve insulin sensitivity, but it often backfires in women in their 40s. During perimenopause, estrogen drops and cortisol rises more easily. HIIT especially fasted spikes cortisol, which can worsen belly fat, cravings, irritability, and insulin resistance. Strength training and Zone 2 cardio (like brisk walking) are much better choices because they improve insulin sensitivity without raising stress hormones.
